Allison Williams’ breakout role may have been as Marnie Michaels on HBO’s dramedy Girls, but the actress is building an enviable horror resume. When M3GAN premieres this Friday, it will mark Williams’ third venture into the genre (with five feature films under her belt), following Get Out and The Perfection. In anticipation of Blumhouse’s killer doll movie’s release, Williams spoke with EW about her experiences working on horror films. Williams was thrilled to reunite with Blumhouse (who also produced Get Out) for M3GAN, where she portrays Gemma, a young robotist who suddenly becomes the guardian of her eight-year-old niece, Cady....

Astin posted a selfie on his own Twitter account, while Wood, Monaghan and Boyd came together for a single photo. Both tweets feature the captions “You Are All Welcome Here.” In the photos, the actors are wearing shirts (and, in Aston’s case, a hat) with a design by Don Marshall, who is known on TikTok as the “Obscure Lord of the Rings Facts Guy.” The design features a line of ears of different shapes and colors, with the phrase “You All Are Welcome Here” in Tolkien’s elvish language....

Star Wars: The Last Jedi star Andy Serkis will once again be on bad guy duty in the upcoming Netflix outing, Luther: The Fallen Sun. Going up against Idris Elba’s intrepid detective will certainly be no easy feat, and Serkis has now teased to Total Film the darkness with which his villain, tech billionaire David Robey, will attack the former detective chief inspector. Revealed in the report, Robey has in fact come up against John Luther before, but been ignored....

Morgan Freeman is this year’s recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille award which will be presented at the Golden Globes ceremony in January. The announcement was made at the Beverly Hilton by Amy Adams and Pedro Almodóvar who were introduced by Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Dr. Aida Takla-O’Reilly. The award is given every year by the HFPA for outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment. The calm and authoritative Morgan Freeman, 74, had already had a long and venerable career by the time he became famous....

The fifth and final season of Lucifer is going to be much longer than originally reported, as Netflix has ordered six additional episodes of the popular series. Rather than the initial order of 10, season 5 will now consist of 16 episodes when it premieres on the service. “We are so incredibly thankful to Netflix for … letting us finish the story of Lucifer on our terms,” co-showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson said when Netflix renewed the series for another season last month....

After much speculation, The Walking Dead’s Chief Content Officer Scott Gimple has finally shared some details about the upcoming Norman Reedus-led spin-off series focusing on fan-favorite character Daryl. Originally announced as being a show that would be headed up by Reedus and TWD co-star Melissa McBride, the latter dropped out of the production before cameras had even started rolling due to location issues, meaning that the show will go on as a solo spin-off, but we now know a little more about where and when the series will be set, which links into a big fan theory....

Changchien also spoke about his own character, Hanzo, who must find a way to survive on this alien planet. We were nagging them everyday like “Is Fishburne really coming?” but all of us were excited to find out indeed he is. There were many rumours at first, like it will be Bruce Willis, Jean-Claude Van Damme, or even Arnold Schwarzenegger, but I’m glad Laurence was casted in the end....

Earlier today, James Gunn finally gave formal announcement on the DCU’s newly revamped lineup of now-confirmed projects. Among them is one that fans have been especially anxious to hear about, though it may not be quite what was expected. Per a report from Comicbook, Gunn revealed a new series titled Paradise Lost, which essentially will be a Themyscira-focused “Wonder Woman prequel”. While no release date window was given, the series will premiere on HBO Max alongside other planned DC projects....

Although sci-fi comedy can be a difficult genre-pairing to navigate at the feature level, recent films Palms Springs and the 11-time Oscar-nominated Everything Everywhere All At Once has proven the perfect medley between the two can be achieved. The writer-director duo Rachel Wolther and Alex H. Fischer plan to try their hand at the ambitious genre fusion with their upcoming film Nobody Nothing Nowhere. The feature is still in the early stages of production, however, preparations have already been made to sell the high-concept feature to international buyers at the upcoming European Film Market....

Among the canceled shows are Julie Plec’s Vampire Academy and Dead Day. Vampire Academy, based on the popular young adult paranormal romance novels of the same name by Richelle Mead, is a unique and captivating series that blends the worlds of fantasy and horror. The show premiered on Peacock in September 2022 and ran for a total of 10 episodes....

Disney+ has provided a new avenue for many of the Mouse House’s most iconic brands to expand their stories and deliver more content than was previously possible. Whether it be Star Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or any other major brand, creating a new series for Disney+ can be an exciting new opportunity for story and character development. Pixar Animation has also jumped aboard the Disney+ train, as they have already developed a couple of original shows and short films for the streaming service....

IFC today announced details and guest stars for Season 7 of the Emmy-nominated comedy Portlandia, premiering on Thursday, January 5 at 10PM. Season 7 will consist of 10 half-hour episodes and marks the television directorial debut of both Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein. Created by Armisen, Brownstein and Jonathan Krisel, Portlandia explores the eccentric misfits who embody the foibles of modern culture. The series is executive produced by Lorne Michaels and produced by Broadway Video....
