In 1996, audiences watched the sports comedy film Eddie. In this movie, Whoopi Goldberg plays Eddie, an intense fan of the basketball team, the New York Knicks. Fittingly, her love of the game makes her one hell of an assistant coach after she wins a contest to land the position. The owner of the team even goes as far as replacing their current head coach with her. Walter is Claudine in this film, and when acting alongside a personality as iconic as Goldberg, it may be hard to hold your own. However, Walter has this one in the bag.

A high school, coming of age, drama comedy? Count us in! Drillbit Taylor chronicles the life of some incoming freshmen as they enter the hellscape that is high school. When they become the receiving end of a bully’s shots, they hire a bodyguard to protect them. In this film, Walter plays Dolores, one of the boys’ mothers. Walter fits in great in this style of film. With the mix of comedy and drama, make sure you check this one out if you are looking to have an easy and good time.
4 Shall We Dance?

There are some movies that fall completely over our heads, and with some big names attached to this one, how could we forget? Shall We Dance? is a 2004 romance drama film that stars actress, singer, and dancer Jennifer Lopez, romance movie heartthrob Richard Gere, Stanley Tucci, and, of course, Walter. In this film, John Clark (Gere) is a lawyer that pursues dance in order to bring some spark back into his life. However, he intends on keeping it a secret from his wife. Walter plays one of John’s dance partners alongside Link (Tucci).

Bruce Almighty came out in 2003. In this drama fantasy, Walter plays Grace’s (Jennifer Aniston) sister, Debbie Connely. This movie follows Bruce Nolan, played by Jim Carrey, when his career in TV takes a slightly downward turn. After he blames God for his misfortunes, God (Morgan Freeman) challenges Bruce to do his job if he is so dissatisfied with how he’s doing.
2 The Parent Trap

Watching The Parent Trap today fills us with so much nostalgia and indescribably joy that we are always looking for every opportunity to bring it up. One of Walter’s most iconic roles was as a side character in 1998’s The Parent Trap starring Lindsay Lohan, Natasha Richardson, Dennis Quaid, and Elaine Hendrix. This movie follows a set of twins Hallie and Annie, who grew up separately after their parents’ divorce and meet for the first time at a summer camp. In order to meet the other parent they haven’t had the chance to get to know, they decide to switch places. Walter played Chessy (not Jessie), Nick’s housekeeper and a sort of motherly figure for Hallie.

If you haven’t watched Abbott Elementary, what are you waiting for? This incredible mockumentary-style sitcom follows a group of strong-willed, passionate, and determined teachers who have landed at a public school. Although they face seemingly endless roadblocks, nothing will stop them from helping their students to succeed. Walter plays second-grade teacher, Melissa Schemmenti. Abbott Elementary is currently in its second season.
