Superman & Lois season 3 is almost here, and fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the iconic superhero and his family to The CW. The series is set to premiere on Tuesday, March 14, and the network has finally released the first official trailer for the upcoming season. The trailer gives fans a sneak peek into what they can expect from the new season, and it’s clear that the Lane-Kent family will be facing some big challenges. The show takes place on an alternative Arrowverse Earth, in the Greg Berlanti-produced multiverse.

The trailer begins with Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) mentioning to her husband Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) that she may be pregnant before cutting to the reveal that she’s missing. This immediately sets the tone for the season leaving fans wondering what could have happened to Lois and how Superman will react to her disappearance. The trailer concludes with a dramatic scene that appears to be the destruction of the Daily Planet building, with Lois seemingly caught in the falling rubble. The season may be taking inspiration from the popular Injustice storyline, in which Superman’s world is turned upside down after the death of Lois Lane, who was pregnant at the time. The trailer can be found below.

The upcoming third season of Superman & Lois is bringing in a new threat for the Man of Steel. The CW series has cast Chad Coleman (The Walking Dead) in the role of the villain, marking his first appearance in the series. While details about his character have not yet been revealed, rumors suggest that he may be playing the character of Bruno “Ugly” Mannheim, who was teased in the second season.

Coleman himself has remained tight-lipped about his role, but has expressed his excitement about the part. In an interview with Horror Geek Life, he said that the character is different from anything he’s ever played before, and he is “incredibly excited” to be stepping into this mysterious role. Coleman also praised his fellow cast members and the team behind Superman & Lois, teasing that fans can expect some quality episodes in the upcoming third season.

The CW’s Superman and Lois premieres on March 14.

“I have this hat on for Superman & Lois, which I’m incredibly excited about. This role encompasses everything I’ve ever done, and as superficial as it sounds, he’s the richest and most powerful dude I’ve ever played. It’s an amazing cast and showrunners. I mean, this is Greg Berlanti productions giving me a plateful of delicious food. I had done Arrow with him and also All American, so for him to serve this up, man, I’m excited."
