Fans of the popular Disney+ series Loki have been eagerly awaiting news of Season 2 and its fresh batch of mysteries. While Marvel has been tight-lipped about what’s coming next, Gugu Mbatha-Raw—who plays Ravonna Renslayer—recently gave an intriguing tease about her character’s story arc.
Ravonna serves as a Judge in the Time Variance Authority and decides the punishments for those causing problems on the Sacred Timeline. In Season 1, she was mostly stuck within the confines of the TVA, and it became clear that she wanted out. Renslayer uses a TemPad to disappear in her final scene of the season, leaving a puzzled Mobius on the ground. Renslayer has been on a mission to find out who put the TVA’s “sacred” Time-Keepers there in the first place ever since she saw Sylvie deprive one of them of its robotic head. Now it looks like we might finally get to see her on her own terms outside the agency in the upcoming season.

While speaking with ET Online about her character in Loki Season 2, Mbatha-Raw teased her future:
It sounds like fans will finally get to see Ravonna take control and follow her own agenda outside the grip of the timeline-monitoring agency. This could mean anything from her taking up a new cause to exploring different areas around time or space to tracking down Loki and Sylvie.
Another exciting possibility is that viewers will get more information on Ravonna’s background. Very little is known about how she got to where she is now. In the comics, Ravonna is known best as the long-time love interest of Kang the Conqueror. While this is not addressed in Loki season 1, it is likely to be addressed in season 2.

What to Expect from Loki’s Return in 2023
Marvel Studios
With an ever-growing fanbase, the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand with its multi-verse saga. In 2023, Loki is set to return and pick up from where season one left off. This series promises to be full of action and drama as it follows the God of Mischief on his journey across multiple timelines. The most obvious thing that stands out about Loki’s return is Jonathan Majors reprising his role as Kang. Although it has not been confirmed, it seems highly likely, given how the season finale ended. While there have been plenty of villains in the past, we have yet to see a character as unpredictable and chaotic as Kang. He is powerful with the brains and technical know-how to match. He will add a new level of excitement and danger to the MCU; something fans will undoubtedly enjoy.
Fans should also look forward to seeing the exploration of multiple timelines throughout this series. According to some set photos and videos, Loki season 2 will see Loki reuniting with Mobius M. Mobius as he travels through different realities and timelines to complete his mission. However, we don’t know how this journey will affect him personally. Will he find redemption by correcting his mistakes, or will he succumb to temptation again?
Returning cast members include Di Martino, Owen Wilson, and Wunmi Mosaku. Additionally, a few new cast members have already been introduced, including Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All At Once) and Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones). Loki season 2 is scheduled to debut on Disney+ in Summer 2023.
