It’s official: Netflix wants more Love, Death + Robots. The series renewal has been officially announced by the streaming platform with a social media post, this following the success of the show’s first three seasons. Netflix simply states of the renewal, “Love, Death + Robots: Volume IV is a GO.”
Love, Death + Robots, a 12-time Emmy-winning series, debuted its third season on May 20 from executive producers Tim Miller (Deadpool, Terminator: Dark Fate), David Fincher (Mindhunter, Mank), Jennifer Miller, and Joshua Donen. Jennifer Yuh Nelson served as supervising director. On Friday, Academy and Emmy Award winning director Alberto Mielgo earned an early Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation for the breakout short “Jibaro.”

Other episodes in the third season of the hit anthology series included Jerome Chen’s “In Vaulted Halls Entombed,” Carlos Stevens’ “Mason’s Rats,” Tim Miller’s “Swarm,” Jennifer Yuh Nelson’s “Kill Team Kill,” Robert Bisi and Andy Lyon’s “Night of the Mini Dead,” Emily Dean’s “The Very Pulse of the Machine,” David Fincher’s “Bad Traveling,” and Patrick Osborne’s “Three Robots” Exit Strategies."
A variety of well-known actors were also featured as voice talent in Love, Death + Robots: Volume III. This includes Joel McHale, Seth Green, Gabriel Luna, Rosario Dawson, Craig Ferguson, Christian Serratos, Joe Manganiello, Jai Courtney, Debra Wilson, and Grivan “Swirv” Bramble.
Season 3 Was the Best Reviewed Yet

The first season of the series consisted of 18 episodes and premiered on Netflix in 2019. Season 2, with eight episodes, arrives in 2021. The third season featured nine episodes. It’s not yet clear how many episodes will be in the fourth season, dubbed Love, Death + Robots: Volume IV.
Volume III managed to snag a perfect score at Rotten Tomatoes with a rare 100% fresh rating, surpassing the 77% garnered for season 1 and 80% for season 2. As the series has only gotten stronger as it has continued on, that seems to have made it much easier to make the decision for a renewal at Netflix. David Fincher has previously teased that this success could spawn a feature Love, Death + Robots feature film as well.
“I can see a world where there could be an LDR feature,” he told Collider. “Right now we just want to walk, we don’t want to run yet. We’re three volumes in. I would like each volume to have 18 to 22 episodes. I would love to have them deliverable on a one-year clock. But the reality of it is as expensive as the show is, and I’m sure within Netflix, they’re like, ‘How much longer can we do this?’”
He added, “It’s still a lot of people killing themselves, not for free, but for a lot less. This show is a labor of love. This volume is a labor of love of like 1,300 people.”
The first three volumes of Love, Death + Robots are streaming on Netflix. Love, Death + Robots: Volume IV doesn’t yet have a premiere date.
