Kiernan Shipka is making it clear that she’s ready to go for a potential Mad Men spinoff series, as all she’s waiting for is to get that call from AMC. In the original series, which ran on AMC from 2007-2015, Shipka played Sally Draper, the daughter of Jon Hamm’s Don Draper. The 22-year-old Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star recently said she was “ready” to revisit Sally in a new series, and in a new interview with Crooked Media’s Keep It podcast, Shipka opened up more about her ideas for the spinoff.
Initially, Shipka was ready to move on to other projects when Mad Men ended its run seven years ago. While she has since found success elsewhere, Sally Draper never really left Shipka’s mind. Having taken enough time away from the series to look at her character from a different perspective, Shipka feels like now is the perfect time to launch the spinoff, and she’s so excited about the prospect that she can’t help but think about the possibilities.

Shipka goes on to describe her vision for the Sally spinoff a bit further, feeling that the character’s upbringing that we saw in Mad Men lends itself to story potential for a new series. She envisions Sally as not doing very well as she navigates life as a twentysomething, but in a way that makes for “fun,” entertaining television.
Jon Hamm Has Previously Endorsed a Sally Spinoff
AMC
Jon Hamm has gone on record saying he’d like to see a Sally spinoff. Back when Mad Men was ending in 2015, Hamm spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the idea of doing a series focusing on Sally. The actor pitched some of his own ideas for where Sally might have gone with her life after Mad Men, and Hamm appeared to be pretty intrigued by the idea. As he said:
For now, fans can look forward to Kiernan Shipka reprising her Sabrina role in season 6 of Riverdale.
