Mad Men is a period drama that aired on AMC for seven seasons, and featured a strong ensemble cast including Christina Hendricks, Jon Hamm, Elizabeth Moss, January Jones, Vincent Kartheiser, John Slattery, and Kiernan Shipka. The series followed the staff of the fictional New York advertising agency Sterling Cooper. The title of Mad Men is explained in the pilot episode as a phrase used to describe 1950s advertisers with Mad being short for Madison Avenue, however, there is limited evidence to prove this phrase was used in a historical sense.
Mad Men is centered around the personal life of the charismatic main protagonist Don Draper. Draper is an advertising genius with a penchant for infidelity, and he has a dark secretive past that he protects fiercely. The series was critically acclaimed for many years and lauded with praise and awards for its writing, acting, and directing. The cast of the show has since had successful careers since Mad Men came to an end in 2015, going on to star in several hit shows and movies, including The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Good Girls, Spotlight, and The Invisible Man. Here is where the cast of Mad Men is today.

Jon Hamm
Lionsgate Television
Emmy Award-winner Jon Hamm has kept busy since his time as Don Draper came to end. He has had numerous voice roles in shows such as The Amazing Gayl Pile, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and M.O.D.O.K. Beyond that, Hamm has starred in the TV series Good Omens and Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. His upcoming projects include Maggie Moore(s), a film directed by John Slattery.
Christina Hendricks
Christina Hendricks is undoubtedly best known for her role as Joan Holloway in Mad Men. As such, it might come as a surprise her agent almost dropped her as a client when she agreed to take the role. Wouldn’t that have been a mistake? Since her breakthrough role as Holloway, Hendricks has starred in several TV series, such as Hap & Leonard, Another Period, and Tin Star. Her most notable television role since Mad Men, however, is the crime dramedy Good Girls, which was unfortunately canceled after its third season. Hendricks has also taken on film roles in Zoolander 2, Bad Santa 2, and The Strangers: Prey at Night, although she is criminally underused in the latter. She will next star in The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry, which is based on a New York Times bestseller of the same name by Gabrielle Zevin.
January Jones
Since her time on Mad Men as disenchanted housewife Betty Draper, January Jones has starred in the television series Return of the Mac, The Last Man on Earth, The Politician, and Spinning Out. She is also set to star in The Helpers and the spooky crime thriller God as a Bullet, opposite Jamie Fox, Ethan Suplee, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
Vincent Kartheiser
Ever since he said goodbye to Pete Campbell in Mad Men, Vincent Kartheiser has been busy starring in the television series Casual, The Path, The OA, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Proven Innocent, and Das Boot. He also starred in My Friend Dahmer, The Social Dilemma, and the creepy psychological horror flick Ultrasound. Kartheiser made a stir recently when he and his wife of eight years, Alexis Bledel, announced their impending divorce.
Elizabeth Moss
Elizabeth Moss has starred in several television productions since playing Peggy Olson on Mad Men. Her most notable projects are starring as June Osborne in The Handmaid’s Tale. The role has earned her two Emmy Awards, two Golden Globes, and a Critics Choice Award. The series has been renewed for its sixth and final season with Hulu, however, it will carry on with a sequel series. Further to The Handmaid’s Tale, Moss has also starred in the series Top of the Lake and Shining Girls. As for film, she has starred in The Invisible Man, Us, and The Old Man & The Gun. Her upcoming projects include Francis and the Godfather and Next Goal Wins, which is directed by Taika Waititi.
John Slattery
Aside from directing the aforementioned Maggie Moore(s), John Slattery has starred in various television shows and movies since his time as Roger Sterling on AMC’s Mad Men. Most notably, he starred in the hit HBO show Veep and the Prime Video series Modern Love. He has also starred in Churchill, Ant-Man, Spotlight, and Avengers: Endgame. More recently, he was reunited with Jon Hamm for the 2022 comedy Confess, Fletch.
Kiernan Shipka
Kiernan Shipka came of age on the small screen playing Sally Draper in the critically acclaimed drama. Since then, she starred in the popular TV miniseries Feud, as well as made a splash as the titular character in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. More recently, Shipka has starred in Swimming With Sharks and The White House Plumbers. As for film roles, she starred opposite Stanley Tucci in the sci-fi horror The Silence. She also starred in the Christmas rom-com Let it Snow. Her upcoming projects include Totally Killer, Sweethearts, and the Red One. As of 2019, she has been romantically linked to Christian Coppola. Despite so many career prospects, Shipka has recently pitched a Sally Draper spinoff series, stating “I’m ready to see [Sally] again. I’m ready to see what she’s up to. I feel like I have so many ideas for what she would be doing.”
