DC fans have taken to social media to celebrate the news that Warner Bros. is now working on bringing back Henry Cavill in Man of Steel 2. According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, a “project that would essentially be Man of Steel 2 is being produced by Charles Roven and is currently in a search for writers.” Thus, Superman fans have taken to the internet to celebrate the news they have been waiting to hear since as far back as 2013.

Crafting a sequel to Man of Steel so long after the first outing will surely be no easy task. The studio is now on the lookout for the best director for the Man of Steel 2 job, with Mission: Impossible – Fallout’s Christopher McQuarrie an alleged favorite. But DC fans have their own ideas.

Whoever helms Man of Steel 2, the news alone has fans more excited than ever for the future of the DC Cinematic Universe, with projects such as The Batman 2, a Joker sequel, and Wonder Woman 3 all on the cards, with the likes of The Flash 2 and Matt Reeves’ plans for an assortment of tales set in his Batman universe all now reportedly in development.

DC Fans Have Dwayne Johnson to Thank for the Return of Henry Cavill as Superman

Action superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the man DC fans should be thanking for the return of Henry Cavill as Superman. Johnson will soon make his DC Cinematic Universe debut as Black Adam, with the actor fighting hard behind the scenes to bring back Cavill’s iteration as the Man of Steel. Something that the studio apparently did not want.

So keen on a Black Adam versus Superman movie is Johnson that he has even begun planning what we might see when the two titans trade blows on the big screen. “I think Black Adam lands the first punch. Now, I don’t know if Black Adam lands the last punch,” he said. “I grew up DC boy. I love Superman. I love Superman, and I still do, clearly,” Jonson said earlier this week. “I can see things so clearly, on how that scene looks like, that that scene looks like, what that film looks like, what the next three films look like. Now, whether or not that comes to fruition, that always helps when you have that kind of clarity.”

Black Adam is scheduled to be released in the United States on October 21, 2022, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
