Married at First Sight is a reality television show on Lifetime that first aired in 2014. It matches young singles based on “scientific matchmaking,” has them get married upon first meeting, and then follows the couples throughout the first few months of marriage. While it sounds like something you’d watch once and think you’ve seen it all, this social experiment has run for 15 seasons and matched 59 couples. Season 16 began on January 4th, and it doesn’t look like this show is going to stop marrying strangers anytime soon. The real question is: does this work? Some of these couples that are still together from Married at First Sight would have to say it does!

Couples That Almost Made it to 2023

Stacia and Nate from season 15 nearly made it to the six-month mark, but after a short and turbulent marriage, decided to call it quits, announcing their split on December 30, 2022. In the announcement, Stacia squashed any rumors of them getting back together before they could even start. Katina and Olajuwon from season 14 were married for a year but announced on their shared Instagram on November 11, 2022, that it was over. This was a more amicable split, as they stated they still had love and respect for each other.

Lindy and Miguel

During season 15, their big issue centered around what name Lindy would take which, considering they married strangers, is a pretty minor issue to have. In the couple of months since season 15 ended, they have settled this issue and decided that Lindy will hyphenate her last name and his. A couple that compromises this early on sounds promising.

Briana and Vincent

Briana and Vincent were the only couple from Season 12 who stuck it out, and they genuinely seem very happy. They celebrated their second wedding anniversary this January and Briana gave birth to a baby girl on January 3rd, who they named Aury Bella Morales. Her name means Golden Beauty, and she is certainly a beautiful baby. Briana and Vincent are absolutely obsessed with their new baby girl and based on their Instagram stories and posts, they love being parents.

Karen and Miles

Despite speculation that the pair have called it quits, Karen and Miles have not confirmed these rumors and are still going strong in New Orleans. They admittedly didn’t have the easiest time on the show, but they deserve a little leniency since season 11 was filmed during the COVID lockdown.

Amani and Woody

Amani and Woody had a special connection from the beginning of season 11, and since their season ended, it has only grown stronger. They welcomed their first child on June 3, 2022. Reign Randall is a handsome baby boy whose parents couldn’t be more thrilled to love him. Amani and Woody are getting ready to celebrate their third wedding anniversary in February 2023.

Jessica and Austin

Jessica and Austin from season 10 were another couple that had very few arguments, which makes it unsurprising that they were the only ones to stay together from that season. In November 2021, they welcomed baby Westin who is growing up fast. Since their season, the couple has also adopted a dog and bought a house. Their relationship looks stable as ever and the two look joyful as they grow their family.

Elizabeth and Jamie

Despite an abundance of arguments and turbulence during season nine, Elizabeth and Jamie are still together today. They briefly separated after their season aired, but decided to make things work and have chosen each other since. Throughout their marriage, this couple has moved around a bit, but have found themselves settled in Denver for a bit. They also have been very open about their choice to wait a little while before expanding their family with children. They may have had a rocky start, but they look happier than ever living life together with their pets.

Deonna and Gregory

Even though Deonna and Gregory had some communication issues during season nine, they were a fan favorite because of the way their romance slowly simmered into a beautiful love. Their love has only grown since then, and they often refer to each other as their best friend, which sounds like a great place to be in marriage. The pair welcomed their first child, Declan, on February 27th, 2021. Since then, fans have gotten the opportunity to watch their love grow alongside their beautiful baby boy.

Stephanie and AJ

Stephanie and AJ from season eight had immediate sparks, and they did not fizzle out — the two are still together after their season eight wedding. This couple appeared on the Married At First Sight spin-off show Couples Cam where fans got a look into their post-show life. The pair is active on social media showing off their exciting life of travel. As many young couples do, they have faced bumps in the road, but have remained adamant about keeping their lives romantic despite that.

Kristine and Keith

Despite a rocky start in season eight, Kristine and Keith are happily married. They also appeared on Couples Cam, which allowed them to show how much they’ve grown together since season 8. These fan favorites have become rock solid. They purchased a home together that they’ve been living in since 2019 and during the pandemic, their love grew stronger as Keith while on the front lines.

Danielle and Bobby

Danielle and Bobby were an obvious pair from the start, so it came as no surprise that they stayed together well after season seven ended. They are getting ready to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary in 2023. The pair has two beautiful children, Olivia, who was born in February 2019, and Robert “Bobby” Dodd IV, who was born in December 2020. Danielle keeps fans up to date on their happy lives with her frequent Instagram posts.

Shawniece and Jephte

Shawniece and Jephte from season six had a rough start but ended up being the only couple from their season to stay together. The pair separated shortly during their season, but came back together without getting a divorce and haven’t looked back since. It seems like they got all their issues out early on because they have been happily married for five years and have a beautiful daughter named Laura.

Ashley and Anthony

Ashley and Anthony were the only pair to stay together in season five, but also the first couple to stay together since season one. Like a few other happy couples, they have appeared on Couple’s Cam in the years following their marriage. They have also expanded their family, welcoming Mila in January 2019 and Vaeda Marie in February 2021. Their love was electric on camera and is clearly just as strong behind the scenes.

Jamie and Doug

Jamie and Doug were part of the first season of Married at First Sight and quickly proved nonbelievers wrong. Jamie came to Married at First Sight ready for love after appearing on season 16 of The Bachelor and season three of Bachelor Pad. Since their time on the show, they have been no strangers to the media. They had their own spin-off, Married at First Sight: Jamie and Doug Plus One in addition to their own podcast and a very active social media presence. They were very transparent about their journey to bring children into their family and now have two children: Henley, five, and Hendrix, two.

So Does It Work?

If this social experiment aims for everyone to live happily ever after with their scientifically matched partners, Married at First Sight does not work. Out of 59 couples, only 13 are together today. That is only a 22% success rate, and the couple from season 15 haven’t made it to the year mark in their marriage quite yet. However, this show did bring together several soulmates who may not have met otherwise. Conclusively, this show brings couples together, but in the end, it all just depends. To see this social experiment in action, tune in Wednesdays on Lifetime, Netflix, or Hulu.
