An epic adventure on the wild blue sea is finally coming to Blu-Ray. According to DVD Town, Master and Commander: The Far Side Of The World will get a release on Blu-Ray on May 13. The disc was originally slated for Blu-Ray in October of last year. The film stars Russell Crowe, Paul Bettany and was directed by Peter Weir.
Based on the best-selling novels of Patrick O’Brian, the film stars Russell Crowe as “Lucky” Jack Aubrey, who pits his crew of the H.M.S. Surprise against a more heavily armed and ruthless privateer, in a chase that takes him all the way to the far side of the world. Rising newcomer Paul Bettany plays the ship’s surgeon Dr. Stephen Maturin.
