Ever since the final battle in Avengers Endgame, when the audience got to see many MCU heroines teaming up to assist Spider-Man in transporting the infinity gauntlet and keeping it away from Thanos, fans of the MCU and Marvel Comics have wondered if that was just a one-off Easter Egg or foreshadowing for an all-female team-up project to come. In addition to fans going crazy about the possibility of an all-woman team, usually referred to as “A-Force,” thanks to the on-screen ensemble, the MCU in general has been very open about branching out their established universe, offering more characters and teams alike.
In the comics, A-Force was a team introduced fairly recently (in 2015) during a very busy comic run dubbed Secret Wars. The team’s roster was massive in the beginning, with most of the A-List female characters and a slew of B-list and C-list heroines. After the Secret Wars arc in the comics, the core roster was whittled down to about seven characters, including MCU characters such as Captain Marvel and She-Hulk. While it would be amazing to see most, if not all, of the MCU female characters become part of an MCU A-Force team, it isn’t necessarily realistic to see, for example, Pepper Potts, Scarlet Witch, Gamora, Mantis, Ms. Marvel, or Kate Bishop in an A-Force project, at least not initially.
With that being said, this article will only be made up of about a handful of adult MCU heroines that have, or soon will have, an established origin and lore in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition, characters that are MIA or presumed possibly deceased (looking at you, Wanda Maximoff), will not be included in our list of A-Force members we would love to see in the MCU. Nevertheless, let’s dive into our list of MCU heroines who should make up an A-Force Team.

7 Captain Marvel
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures
Captain Marvel is a core member of the A-Force team in the comics, and probably makes the most sense for a founding member in a possible MCU iteration. Captain Marvel is a fantastic leader, an incredibly powerful heroine, and an established character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. To have an A-Force team without her would feel wrong and would honestly be a major cop-out. Of course, she would most likely need to take a hiatus from fighting in the ongoing Cree-Skrull War in deep space, but maybe that could be a plot point for the formation of the A-Force team. While that probably wouldn’t be the case, we can’t help but geek out when thinking about some of the most amazing MCU heroines suiting up for deep space travel and fights, epic.

6 The Wasp - Hope Van Dyne
Walt DIsney Studios Motion Pictures
Hope Van Dyne is the second individual to take up the mantel of The Wasp in both the MCU and Marvel Comics, with her mother being the original. Hope would bring a unique set of powers, skills, and abilities to any team, including an A-Force team. Despite not being part of any rendition of the team in the comics, the Wasp would make an excellent addition to an A-Force team with her connection to Pym particles and the quantum zone, which fits well with how an MCU iteration of the team should be structured. Instead of using younger characters like Ms. Marvel, Miss America, and/or Kassie Lang’s Stature, the seasoned and more powerful adult characters who, in a sense, have been there and done that would fit the team best. With that being said, Hope Van Dyne is definitely a strong pick to be a member of the MCU’s A-Force.
5 Princess Shuri
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures
Similar to how the Wasp offers strong connections to Pym particles and all of their benefits, Princess Shuri has incredibly strong ties to vibranium and its many uses/benefits. Not to mention, Shuri is a literal genius and a formidable fighter, being of a strong Wakandan lineage. Princess Shuri is the younger sister of King T’Challa and holds a rightful claim to the throne of Wakanda, with Wakanda’s might behind her. Shuri would be a valuable member of an A-Force team based solely on her knowledge and wisdom; while she is young, she is far beyond her years in many important ways. Even though Shuri has not been part of an A-Force team in Marvel Comics, things such as that haven’t stopped Kevin Feige and Marvel from reimagining stories and adapting multiple aspects of them to the big screen very effectively.
4 Monica Rambeau - Spectrum
Disney Platform Distribution
Monica Rambeau is one of the lesser-known characters in the MCU, introduced in the Disney+ original series WandaVision as the daughter of the now-deceased Maria Rambeau. In the comics, Monica is a member of the A-Force during the Secret Wars story as her superhero persona, Spectrum. Her powers are some of the most unique, as she has the ability to control any energy that she has enough time to understand, even energy that is only theorized and energy of massive power. In addition to Monica possessing some amazing, albeit often overpowering, abilities, she also has very strong, yet conflicting, ties to Captain Marvel in both the comics and the MCU. Monica is rumored to appear in the Captain Marvel sequel film, The Marvels, and we can only speculate where she will end up afterward.
3 She-Hulk
Marvel Studios
Another character we are getting from a Disney+ original series is She-Hulk, Jennifer Walters, and she, like Captain Marvel, would be a no-brainer addition to an MCU A-Force project. Like Captain Marvel, She-Hulk is a founding and core member of the A-Force in the comics, being their leader for the entire run. Jennifer Walters makes an excellent choice for a member of the A-Force thanks to her quick and sharp thinking, insane strength, and durability, as well as her fantastic leadership skills. While she has her flaws, mainly being of crazy Gama-infused rage monster origin, everybody does, and Jennifer shouldn’t be held under judgment for them alone. Though she has yet to appear in the MCU, we can only hope and, in a sense, expect She-Hulk to quickly become a Grade A heroine, bringing honor to her comic book counterpart.
2 Jane Foster - Mighty Thor
Marvel Comics
Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor is another character that hasn’t debuted in the MCU as this article is being written, though she is set to very soon. Jane’s Mighty Thor, like many characters on this list, hasn’t been in any rendition of the A-Force team in the comics, yet it makes sense for her to be so in the MCU. The Mighty Thor is possibly the most powerful character we have touched on in this article, including Carol Danvers’ Captain Marvel, and has stolen the spotlight from Thor Odinson in the comic book pages almost every time they share the page. To say she is strong is an understatement; she possesses the same abilities as Thor Odinson, and some added ones just for good measure. Jane is highly worthy of the mantle of Thor, obviously, but maybe even more-so, when you take into account the comic storyline that surrounds her becoming the Mighty Thor; she literally gets closer to death every time she wields the powers of Thor. If she makes it through Thor: Love and Thunder, she needs to be in an A-Force project, if there is to be one.
1 Valkyrie - King of New Asgard
Our final choice for MCU heroines who should make up an MCU A-Force team is the one and only Valkyrie (literally, she is the only surviving Valkyrie from Asgard). Technically, the first King of New Asgard, Valkyrie, is an amazing choice to be a member of an MCU A-Force team for a variety of reasons. She is an awesome woman with incredible fighting skills, a resurrected passion for loyalty, and extensive knowledge of warfare; combine these with her devotion to the Asgardian people and her connection to Thor/Mighty Thor, and she is an obvious choice for an A-Force team. While she isn’t part of the A-Force team in the comics (yes, I know, a bit redundant), she would fit right in with the cast of characters we have laid out here in this article. Leadership, strength, resilience, and quick-thinking are only a few of the traits she shares with the other possible A-Force members, and if you ask us, this team would be one no evildoer would want to sleep on.
