Spoiler Warning: Thor: Love and Thunder & Loki on Disney+
Thor (Chris Hemsworth) lost his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) at the hands of Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Endgame. But also in Avengers: Endgame, a Loki from a different timeline escaped (or was hauled away) to an extra-dimensional area outside of time from the regular multiverse called the Time Variants Authority (TVA). There he not only witnessed his own death but learned a method of traveling from universe to universe that maybe he can’t accomplish at will, but to which he still has access. One wonders if Loki will ever see Thor again as the multiverse comes together.

When he left his own timeline, Loki was still very much enemies with his brother. Remember, he had just been imprisoned at the end of the first Avengers movie. But when Loki died in Thor’s timeline, the two had been through many struggles and reconciliations and had become old friends. It would be quite an emotional encounter if they ever came back together. And at the end of Loki’s first season, he was transported to a different timeline where his dead friend Mobius (Owen Wilson) was still alive, illustrating that these posthumous meet-ups were very possible. But Loki is on a mission to save the multiverse from Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) and save this new Mobius while Thor is busy raising a child. So, if their paths cross, it definitely won’t be on purpose.
Where Is Thor Now?
Marvel Studios
At the end of Thor: Love and Thunder, Thor leaps into battle with his newly adopted daughter, that was born from a wish that Gorr made to Eternity, the cosmic entity that symbolizes the universe. When Gorr made that wish, he was given his daughter back but died soon thereafter. Thor adopted her out of a promise to Gorr. At the very end of the movie, we see that this little girl has some level of superpowers when she tries to blast her father with some friendly little laser beams from her eyes, and Korg, as he narrates the final scene, tells us she is called Love.
Nothing has been set in stone yet for the MCU, but fans are fairly certain that this little girl will become Mistress Love. If she does, she will be another powerful entity in the Marvel universe that many consider stronger than Galactus.
Another thing established in this movie is that Thor has knowledge of many universal things that we haven’t seen before. We might expect him to know about the meeting place of all the gods since he is a god himself. But when he told everyone about Eternity, it may have come as a surprise. Still, this could mean he is aware of the multiverse, even though he has never traveled to any other universes. If Thor does know about other Lokis in different universes, it’s likely that even if he met them, Thor would know that these Lokis aren’t his brother and would be wise enough not to mistake them for his brother revived.
Then again, this particular Loki from Endgame is the closest version to his brother that he could find. It isn’t like Tom Holland meeting Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home. This is still Tom Hiddleston, and arguably the same Loki from the Earth-616 timeline just stolen out of the past.
Where Could Loki Go In Season 2?
Last we left Loki in his eponymous series, things were falling apart at the TVA. Sylvie had just killed Kang (Jonathan Majors) and dumped Loki into an alternate version of the Time Variants Authority that, despite having a living Mobius, seemed to be a bit more warlike than the version Loki was initially pulled into. In place of Time Keepers statues, this version of the TVA had large monolithic likenesses of Kang, and instead of running around getting ready to fix everything that was going wrong, it seemed they were preparing some kind of attack. Along with that, his old friend Mobius didn’t recognize him.
So Loki season 2 leaves our hero in quite the predicament, and it seemed like he had other goals besides meeting up with his brother.
Though one thing does link the two heroes: Kang is on the loose. And Loki is closer to an aggressive Kang than Thor is at the moment. As Kang grows in power and relevance to our heroes back on Earth, it becomes more and more likely that Thor will be called to fight him, and Loki will be drawn into the conflict via the TVA. If the two ever were to meet again, Thor would probably be overjoyed to see his brother again, even if it isn’t his real brother.
But one has to wonder if Loki might still hold some resentment against Thor for foiling his plans on Earth. But that’s probably not the case. The incredible amount of growth Loki has gone through since then has perhaps led him to let go of his evil schemes and focus on things that truly matter. Still, Loki might say hi to his brother by forgiving him for something that, to Thor, is now decades in the past. And that would be funny to see.
