The standout character of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4 is clearly Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). From an amazing limited series to being the highlight of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it’s unlikely fans have seen the last of her in the current phase of MCU content, despite what seemingly happened to her at the end of the film.
Wanda and her titular series WandaVision began the next phase of the MCU, showing the world just how powerful she can be when she unlocks all of her power. It also revealed where her power came from, taking her on a dark journey and bloodbath in Doctor Strange 2. She went from brainwashing/manipulating an entire town to killing major characters in an alternate universe to taking down the darkness, no matter the consequence to herself.

If she survived her actions at the end of Doctor Strange, where else could she contribute to Phase 4, especially considering its purpose? Let’s explore the options based on what we currently know about other projects in the phase.
The Marvels Would Bring Wanda and Monica Back Together
Marvel Studios
After Monica Rambeau’s (Teyonah Parris) inclusion in WandaVision, the two are now forever connected. Monica has some after effects from going through the bubble Wanda created, which were definitely not intentional. She is confirmed to return in The Marvels, the second Captain Marvel film due out next year, which will feature Monica, Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), and Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani).
The end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saw Wanda seem to return to herself, without the influence of the Book of the Damned. She realizes what she’s done while under its influence and tries to right that wrong by destroying it in every universe. If she survived her actions, maybe she goes back and tries to right her wrongs, including what happened to Monica. Elizabeth Olsen has said Wanda will take accountability for her actions in WandaVision, but will that include helping Monica? Though, it’s unclear if Scarlet Witch’s chaos magic could fix the changes to Monica’s DNA that moving through the barrier caused even if she wanted it to.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Due to Wong’s Involvement
Disney+
This one may seem like an odd choice. Why would Wanda turn up in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law? It feels like the last place Marvel fans could expect to see her. But, a character she could be associated with from this point forward appears in the series, so there’s a chance she does.
Sorcerer Supreme Wong (Benedict Wong) is confirmed to appear in the series, which isn’t surprising since he seems to be in most projects of the phase. While she and Wong battled in Doctor Strange 2, it could make sense that she would go to him if she survived. Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), another character with magical powers, has interacted with Wong, and America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) is being trained by him. It would be a no-brainer to have one of the remaining magical characters, who has turned over a new leaf, to connect with Wong, and She-Hulk is his next appearance.
There’s also the general Easter egg that in the comics, She-Hulk killed Vision at one point, meaning the two characters were connected. Could this be where White Vision is reintroduced?
What If…? Can Show an Alternate Doctor Strange 2
Wanda already appeared in the series What If…?, shown as a zombie immune to the cure found by other characters. She was being fed T’Challa by Vision, killed Okoye, Bucky Barnes, and Kurt, and even faces off against the Hulk while everyone else flees, so they don’t suffer the same fate. Not a stellar depiction of Wanda, but it included her character.
A second season of the show is set to premiere later this year, meaning there’s a chance Wanda will appear again in the series. Since the point of the show is to show alternate timelines of major events, perhaps fans will get to see the ending of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness going a different way. In an alternate universe, maybe Wanda does get to be a mother to her children. Perhaps she doesn’t destroy the Book of the Damned. The possibilities are endless when alternate universes are involved.
Fantastic Four Would Reconnect Wanda to Introduced Characters
Anyone familiar with the comics knows Wanda’s connection to the X-Men and members of the Fantastic Four. While there aren’t many details available on how Marvel may introduce more X-Men or Fantastic Four members into the phase, a Fantastic Four film is still on the schedule.
From the playful reintroduction of her brother Pietro in WandaVision to introducing Fantastic Four member Reed Richards (John Krasinski) and Professor X (Patrick Stewart) in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda has been associated with the team quite a bit during this phase. There’s also the most recent mutant to join the MCU, which shows that more content from that vein is coming.
Sure, technically, her brother is dead, and he was played by Evan Peters as a fun meta-reference, but maybe he’s alive in an alternate timeline. While the most recent update on the film is they are still searching for a director, there’s a strong chance Wanda would appear in it.
This list doesn’t include Agatha: House of Harkness, which Wanda is likely to show up in, but that series is not part of Phase 4. Here’s to hoping we see the witch before then.
