It’s undebatable to say that the MCU is one of the most influential franchises of all time. It has produced nearly unfathomable numbers at the box office while also succeeding at culminating material from over two-dozen feature films into one single cinematic masterpiece. It’s something that has never been done before and will likely only ever be done again by the post-Endgame MCU. Regardless of how audiences and critics might feel about the superhero juggernauts, another undebatable dispute is that the MCU has been able to get some of the most prolific and seasoned actors/actresses to appear in their movies.
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
Over the course of the past decade and a half, the MCU has produced nearly 40 projects (movies and television), and among the actors and actresses playing the coveted heroes in those projects are people who have taken home some of the most sought-after prizes in all of the entertainment world. In fact, there have been 27 Oscar winners alone to feature in MCU projects with a list that includes all-time greats like Anthony Hopkins, Samuel L. Jackson, Cate Blanchett, and many more. Needless to say, the actors/actresses that have appeared in the MCU are some of the best the world has ever seen. But there are still a few that fans are praying will make their MCU debut as soon as possible.
Pedro Pascal Should Be Spider-Man 2099
There are a multitude of reasons why Pedro Pascal should make his MCU debut, not the least of which is that he’s a fantastic actor who has proved time again that he can take on some of the biggest roles in cinema and television and truly make them his own. With notable roles in shows like Game of Thrones, Narcos, and The Mandalorian, Pascal has won fans and audiences over repeatedly throughout the last decade and could easily do so in the MCU.
One thing that the MCU has never been lacking in is diversity, with a plethora of heroes and characters from different cultures and races always being included in the cinematic mix. That being said, one area that has lacked a little representation in the MCU is the Latino demographic. Bringing in Pascal could definitely help to start filling that gap. With that in mind, a notable Latino Marvel character that Pascal could play would be Miguel O’Hara, otherwise known as Spider-Man 2099. The character will be voiced by Oscar Isaac in the upcoming Into the Spider-Verse sequel, but Pascal would be perfect for a live-action rendition of the future hero.
Anne Hathaway Would Make a Great MCU Villain
With so many Oscar winners already appearing in the MCU, why not add another? Anne Hathaway has taken home the highest award in all of acting, and she’s also already made an appearance in a superhero movie when she played the role of Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises back in 2012. Granted, it has been a decade since that movie came out, but Hathaway is still just as amazing an actress today as she was back then, and she could easily take over a superhero role for the MCU.

That being said, Hathaway has often played roles that have aired on the lighter side, and her dip into an anti-hero role as Catwoman was a refreshing change of pace that she played to perfection. So maybe Hathaway could get cast in a villain role in the MCU instead. Like Cate Blanchett did for Hela, Hathaway could easily take on a sinister villainess role like the Marvel character of Death or a mutant when the X-Men finally arrives.
Let Johnny Depp Make an Epic Comeback
While the trial is still ongoing, Depp’s reputation has essentially been restored, and the vast majority of the public believes that Depp will be back making movies as soon as the case concludes. So why not let the actor pull an RDJ and give him the largest stage in the world to help restore his fractured reputation?
Depp has made an entire career playing over-the-top/eccentric characters with quirky and memorable mannerisms. The MCU is never short of those characters. Looking back at some of the characters that the MCU has already featured, it wouldn’t be difficult at all to picture Depp in roles like The Collector or The Grandmaster. So, when the next character like that comes around, the MCU should really only have one person in mind for the role.
Giancarlo Esposito, the Galaxy Destroyer
AMC
Whoever the next big-bad villain of the MCU is, it needs to be played by this man. Giancarlo Esposito has quickly made a name for himself as the greatest cinematic/televised villain of our generation, and he could easily make a case for the greatest ever. So, it’s only logical that the baddest villain of all time takes on the role of the MCU’s baddest villain of all time.

Jonathan Majors currently looks to be taking on the role of the next big-bad villain with his role of Kang. But whenever Galactus decides to come around (or whichever galaxy-destroying villain the MCU decides to bring in after Kang), there’s no question that Esposito should be getting the call from Kevin Feige to play the character.
