Netflix is looking to expand its celebrity footprint by signing musical sensation Megan Thee Stallion to an exclusive deal that will see the 26-year-old providing content for the streaming platform, including a TV series and numerous other projects. While the content is still to be revealed, the singer, who made a name for herself with the hit singles Savage and WAP with Cardi B, seems to be more than happy with the new direction for her career as she expressed her excitement in an official statement, Collider reports.
“I’ve always had a passion for telling creative and entertaining stories, so I’m thrilled about this partnership with Netflix, venturing into production is the next step in my journey as an entrepreneur and I can’t wait to bring all my ideas to life and for my Hotties to watch," she said.

The artist, whose real name is Megan Pete, is no stranger to showing off her love of TV and films, having posed in numerous photographs wearing anime cosplays, and frequently discussing her lover of many genres, in particular Horror. Megan previously created and starred in a three part horror series called Hottieween, which was released via YouTube, and in 2020 discussed her desire to work with Get Out filmmaker Jordan Peele, but has also given a strong indication that she is much more in favor of original content than reboots of familiar franchises.
“It’s gonna be something that definitely blows your mind; you’ve never seen it before. In the same way that I like to introduce different personas through my music, I also want to try a lot of new things,” she said of a movie script she was working on at the time.
The head of comedy at Netflix, Tracey Pakosta, praised the music star in a statement about her collaboration with the platform. “Megan is a multi-talented creative force who has consistently made her mark on culture, she’s always growing and evolving as an artist, and we’re thrilled that she’s making a home at Netflix for this next chapter in her journey.”
While there is no clear indication of what Netflix plans to allow Megan to bring to the streaming arena, it seems that there is plenty of scope for her to work with and that could lead to her previously mentioned horror script being one of the projects that can be put into production. As a well established musical act, it would probably not be out of the question for some of those talents to be put on display as well, especially when Netflix have already put out Homecoming, the documentary by Beyonce who Megan worked with on Savage.
