One of the standout sketches from Michael B. Jordan’s stint hosting Saturday Night Live on Saturday night was a parody of the “Jake from State Farm” commercials. The real advertisements feature Jake, a State Farm employee, popping up to let customers know his company will always be there for them, like a “good neighbor.” But Jake gets way too involved with one family after showing up to help them with their insurance rates, turning the spoof ad into a new take on The Hand That Rocks the Cradle. You can watch the parody below via NBC.
The reception fans had to the sketch shows that it struck well with viewers. Some fans have taken to social media to praise the sketch for its humor, with others noting that the real “Jake from State Farm” ads just cannot be viewed the same way again after watching Jordan’s parody.

As one tweet reads, “Taking a DIRTY yet sinister spin on Jake From Statefarm. I’LL NEVER BE ABLE TO LOOK AT JAKE FROM STATE FARM THE SAME AGAIN THANKS.”
“Michael B. Jordan as Jake from State Farm has me in tears,” another viewer had put it.
Saturday Night Live Continues
NBC
This was the hosting debut for Jordan, who was joined by musical guest Lil Baby for the episode. This follows Austin Butler and Aubrey Plaza both making their own respective debuts hosting the show in recent weeks. The next episode, due to air on Feb. 4, will bring in The Mandalorian and The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal to make his hosting debut as well; he’ll be joined by a returning Coldplay.
Meanwhile, Jordan has also been hard at work on his directorial debut as well. He is directing the sequel Creed III, which also features him in the lead role, serving as a follow-up to 2018’s Creed II. Fans can also look forward to seeing him return in an upcoming sequel to the hit film Without Remorse. Dubbed Rainbow Six, the film brings back Jordan to reprise his role as John Kelly.
You can stream the new episode of Saturday Night Live featuring Michael B. Jordan, as well as past episodes of the sketch comedy series, on Peacock.
