New merchandise for The Flash movie has revealed the first look at Michael Keaton’s new version of the Batwing, set to appear in the highly anticipated film that’s due to hit theaters in 2023. The movie will follow Barry Allen as he gets stuck in a parallel universe, allowing Keaton to reprise his iconic role from Tim Burton’s Batman movies, a part he hasn’t played since 1992. It creates an exciting opportunity for fans to revisit both Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne and Michael Keaton’s original take on the character in one movie.

The iconic item being showcased is none other than Keaton’s Batwing, which looks to be in its most advanced form yet, and it is referred to as the “Ultimate Batwing”. The original Batwing has become an iconic part of Batman lore. It was introduced in Tim Burton’s first movie. In a thrilling sequence, Batman attempts to save Gotham City, but the Joker is able to shoot down the beloved vehicle. Now, this version of the Batwing has been retired, and naturally we can assume that this is because the original suffered great damage during that arduous battle. Batman is always updating and upgrading his technology whenever possible - after all, he’s Batman!
Hence, the Ultimate Batwing having an upgraded style and strength could explain why Keaton’s Batman has the capability to fight alongside Supergirl and The Flash himself. We can’t be sure yet what the Ultimate version of this iconic Batwing holds, but it wouldn’t be surprising if it has the potential to take on even bigger targets than its predecessor was originally designed for. One of those possible opponents is General Zod, who may make his return in The Flash. It remains to be seen how advanced this Ultimate Batwing is capable of being, but we might just get an idea when the movie trailer drops in February 2023.
The Ultimate Batwing is an entirely new concept created for Keaton’s Batman in the upcoming The Flash movie. Unlike its comic book counterpart, this Ultimate Batwing looks a lot more futuristic and sleek with design elements that reflect Keaton’s technology upgrades over the years. As Keaton’s Batman is much older by this point in the timeline, it makes sense that he would want to upgrade his classic-styled craft to keep up with evolving times.
The Flash will be released in theaters on June 16, 2023.
