Intrepid’s Successful Horror Run with Netflix

Intrepid is responsible for some of the best horror shows currently streaming on Netflix, including The Haunting anthology that includes The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor. Intrepid followed up with Midnight Mass, which proved to be another success for the duo. The 2021 series received critical praise and earned three Critics Choice Awards nominations.
Intrepid’s most recent production, The Midnight Club, premiered in October. The miniseries, based on novels by Christopher Pike, told the story of a group of terminally ill teens residing in hospice care that meet every night to share scary stories. Flanagan recently told Variety that the series was meant to be ongoing, but he was unsure if Netflix wanted to continue with the story.
While Intrepid is making a move, they still have another Netflix project that is scheduled for release next year. The Fall of the House of Usher, based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, will star Mark Hamill, Katie Siegel, Carla Gugino, and Henry Thomas. Besides their praised series on Netflix, Intrepid has also worked on films, including two Stephen King adaptations: Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep, as well as Hush, and Before I Wake.
