There have been many Hollywood stars who have been a little economical with the truth when it comes to revealing their age, and it seems that the longstanding rumor that Mila Kunis claimed to be a little older in order to nab her role in That ‘70s Show. Now the actress has addressed the rumors, confirming that they are all true and she did initially lie about her age in order to get a foot in the door of the role that would be her breakout appearance as Jackie Burkhart in the series.

Set to reprise her role in That ‘90s Show, a sequel to the hit sitcom, Kunis was recently asked about the rumors of her landing the role in the series on the back of a small fib while speaking with Vanity Fair. The actress decided that it was time to face the rumor head-on and confirm that everything in them is true, although it seems that the creators of the show didn’t really mind when she confessed the truth to them. That ‘70s Show Creators Knew The Truth About Mila Kunis’ Age

Despite having added a few years in order to get a shot at being in That ‘70s Show, the series creators Terry and Bonnie Turner knew exactly how old Kunis was by the time filming was underway on the sitcom, and they didn’t really care. Kunis continued:

“There’s a rumor going around that I may or may not have lied about my age. I’d like to make it very clear now that I did lie. I did. However, by the time I went to what was then a producer’s network call…you have to sign a contract before you get the job and in my contract I had to put an asterisk for ‘studio teacher.’ They were like, ‘What do you mean?’ And I was like, ‘Oh P.S., I’m 14.’ But at that point if you talk to the creators, they were like, ‘We loved you at that point so what did we care?’”

Of course, that is all in the past, and the now 39 year old is returning to the role that delivered her big break with the Netflix revival sequel, That ‘90s Show, which will catch up on the characters as they are now. Kunis has previously promised fans of the original series that this new show will capture everything they loved about That ‘70s Show, calling it “very cute.”

“It was in the heyday of older kids playing younger kids and I was actually of the age of the character. I was never treated as lesser then. If I did by one of the cast members another cast member would stand up for it. The reason I don’t do drugs was because nobody on the set did. And I looked up to them at 14. The trajectory of my career could’ve gone any which way…but the set was cool.”

There is still no premiere date for That ‘90s Show, but having completed filming back in July, it will surely not be too long until we catch up with Jackie and the rest of the regulars when the series arrives on Netflix.
