9 Karla
Les Films Christal
Karla is a 2006 film that is based on the true events of Canadian serial killer Paul Bernardo (Collins) who kidnapped, sexually abused, and murdered three girls. The movie also includes information on Karla Homolka (Laura Prepon), who was aware of his indiscretions, including the rape and murder of her own sister, and still married him. Variety cited the film as “a creepy but botched work” and “is much less enlightening and involving than it should be.” The best part of the film is the representation of Paul by Collins, who excels at the awkward and creepy character he is portraying without taking it too far.

8 TSA America
Level Orange Productions
The TSA America short films were released in 2013 and 2014. The three movies — TSA America: Just Relax, TSA America: Suspicious Bulge, and TSA America: Yeah, But Is It Ticking? — tell the story of Officer Franklin (Collins) in a fictionalization of what TSA screenings involving serious security violations might look like. Collins is actually hilarious and gives a breath of life to the otherwise frustrating thing that is airport security. He also produced this series of films, lending his behind-the-camera talents to the screen.
7 Girl, Interrupted
Columbia Pictures
Girl, Interrupted is a 1999 film based on the book of the same name by Susanna Kaysen. In this film, we learn Kaysen’s story of how she survived in an American psychiatric hospital in the 1960s after being diagnosed with BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder). Collins plays the role of Tony, who is actually trying to score with the main character. His performance is brief, and he still wants Susanna (Winona Ryder) even after she tells him about her mental health struggles. This scene showcases that a character can have a lasting impact even if we don’t see them for very long.
6 The Angel of Vine
The Angel of Vine
The Angel of Vine is actually a fictional podcast starring Joe Manganiello and Alfred Molina that was released in 2018. Collins stars in four episodes as Adler Harrison. The Angel of Vine is a fictional true-crime podcast that tells the story of a journalist who discovers audios from the 1950s, where a private investigator solved a murder mystery and didn’t tell anyone. Collins does a great job of making you feel like you’re actually in a Hollywood noir, and the intrigue and mystery just keep unfolding. The Angel of Vine website reports that Season 2 is coming soon.
5 Divine: The Series
YES Network
Collins is co-creator, actor, and producer of this six-episode miniseries originally released in 2011. In Divine: The Series, Collins plays Father Christopher, a young priest who must resolve his religious crisis in order to avoid damning the soul of a living miracle. The 7th Matrix cited the series as a “provocative beast [that] poses intriguing questions concerning free will, determinism, and redemption in the guise of a dark supernatural drama.” Collins does a great job of drawing you into the story and making you question the morals of good and evil.
4 Encounter
3 Charmed
Warner Bros.
Collins guest starred in Season 2, Episode 7 of Charmed entitled “They’re Everywhere.” Charmed tells the story of three sisters who are witches and fight for good against evil from their San Francisco home. In this particular episode, Eric Bragg, played by Collins, is being hunted by Warlocks who want information he has in their quest for knowledge. The Charmed Ones protect Eric and eventually save his life. Collins does a great job of playing the innocent man being hunted down. His facial features and expressions are impressive. Over the years, Charmed has become a staple in many households, especially among those who grew up in the late 1990s to early 2000s. The show did so well that CW rebooted Charmed with a new cast in 2018.
2 24
Fox Entertainment
In 2002, Collins was in a 7-episode arc of the hit television show 24, starring Kiefer Sutherland. This part of 24 tells the story of Victor Drazen, who participated in ethnic cleansing in Kosovo under Slobodan Miloevi, who was the father of Andre Drazen and Alexis Drazen (Collins). Due to Senator Palmer’s participation in Operation Nightfall, Alexis traveled to the USA to assist in the plan to kill him. Collins is suave and smart in his scenes in 24, but his character meets a worrisome fate. At the time of this writing, 24 has had a staggering showing at the awards ceremonies, earning a total of 207 nominations and 74 wins! In 2021, Deadline reported that 24 could be brought back in some capacity by Fox Entertainment.
1 Supernatural
Collins is probably most well known for playing the Angel Castiel on Supernatural. Beginning in Season 4, when his character was introduced, he immediately became a fan favorite. Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki (Walker) and Jensen Ackles (The Boys) as brothers Sam and Dean Winchester, who hunt down the supernatural creatures that threaten everyday life. Throughout the show’s staggering 15-year run, Collins was consistently praised for his portrayal of Castiel. He brought something unique to the character by showing the growth of someone who learns about something — in this case, humanity — as they are exposed to it. Collins’ co-star Ackles is producing a prequel for the CW, The Winchesters, and with the way Supernatural told its story, it is possible Castiel could make an appearance at some point, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
