Much of the footage centers on Evan Peters as Dahmer, whose eyes manage to look both right into your soul and straight through you at the same time. The series is set to explore the stories of his victims, as well as detailing how the killer was able to elude the authorities for so long. Despite his very obvious guilt. “Over the course of 10 powerful episodes, DAHMER shines a spotlight on the as-yet untold stories of Dahmer’s victims, the people who tried to stop him, and the systemic failures that enabled him to continue his murderous spree for over a decade,” Netflix says in a description alongside the trailer.

“Monster chronicles the story of one of America’s most notorious serial killers, largely told from the point of view of Jeffrey Dahmer’s victims, and dives deeply into the police incompetence and apathy that allowed the Wisconsin native to go on a multi-year killing spree,” the official synopsis for Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story reads. “The series dramatizes at least ten instances where Dahmer was almost apprehended but ultimately let go. The series also is expected to touch on white privilege, as Dahmer, a clean-cut, good-looking white guy, was repeatedly given a free pass by cops as well as by judges who were lenient when he had been charged with petty crimes.”
