The mild-mannered Steven Grant comes face-to-face with the Moon God Knonshu in the latest clip from Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series, Moon Knight. The eerie footage provides just a taste of the horror elements that are sure to imbue Moon Knight with a wonderful uniqueness, with the show sure to bring something new and refreshing to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Released via the official Twitter Moon Knight account, the footage shows a terrified Steven Grant (played by Oscar Isaac) as he attempts to make sense of the nightmarish visions that have begun to overtake his life. The clip also gives us our best look yet at the Egyptian God Khonshu. Also known as the nocturnal “God of the Moon”, “God of Vengeance” and the “Shepherd of to the Lost.” Stomping towards a cowering Steven like so many movie monsters before him, the sight of Knonshu is no doubt just a tease of the creepy imagery that will help Moon Knight stand out against his Marvel brethren.

Starring Oscar Isaac as the title character (or should that be characters?), Moon Knight begins as the mercenary Marc Spector, who is left for dead after a mission gone wrong. Before succumbing to his fate, Marc makes a deal with the Egyptian God Knonshu, becoming the bearer of his powers on Earth in exchange for his life.
Moon Knight is likely to first introduce the character under a different name and identity, that of Steven Grant. A mild-mannered gift-shop employee suffering from blackouts and memories of another life, Steven will slowly realize his dissociative identity disorder (DID), uncovering his bizarre origin as a mercenary possessed by a God.

Marvel Studios
Early reactions to the first few episodes of Moon Knight recently began to surface, with the series’ receiving an overwhelmingly positive reaction from audiences so far. “The first 4 episodes of #MoonKnight are phenomenal. The performances are fantastic across the board—especially Oscar Isaac. Hawke’s Arthur Harrow is excellently written; easily the strongest Disney+ villain to date. It’s dark, scary, mind-bending, and deliciously different,” said one lucky viewer. While another echoed many of these sentiments; “Moon Knight is banana pants CRAZY & heart-poundingly intense! Loved every second of the 1st 4 episodes. Oscar Isaac = incredible, Ethan Hawke = terrifying. Unlike any Marvel show. Can’t get enough. Epic soundtrack, score, visuals & action. It’s DARK. Fave Marvel show!”
Created by Jeremy Slater for the streaming service Disney+, Moon Knight is being directed by Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson, and Aaron Moorhead and stars Oscar Isaac as Steven Grant/Marc Spector AKA Moon Knight alongside Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow, a religious zealot and cult leader associated with the god Ammit.
