“Where will you be the minute you wake up dead?” Cole Hauser is in for a wild, action-packed ride with the upcoming film from Lionsgate, The Minute You Wake Up Dead. Hauser stars alongside Morgan Freeman, who plays the small-town Mississippi officer, Sheriff Thurmond Fowler. Fowler is hard at work attempting to solve multiple murders centered around Hauser’s character and his girlfriend, played by Jaimie Alexander.

Michael Mailer helms and writes the upcoming thriller, with previous work including Blind and Heart of Champions. Timothy Holland will join Mailer in his writing duties, with The Minute You Wake Up Dead being his most significant project to date. Based on the trailer alone, it looks as though Alexander’s character will present more than meets the eye, although audiences can expect plenty of twists and turns throughout the film. The official synopsis for The Minute You Wake Up Dead reads: “This sexy, riveting noir thriller will keep you guessing. After a shady small-town stockbroker begins dating a shy waitress, a shocking murder takes place — and one of them may be responsible. As word spreads that there’s money behind the killing, every criminal in town wants their share of the cash. One shocking plot twist follows another, and a bloody showdown leads to a mind-blowing finale.”

Andrew Stevens, Darren Mann, Tony DeMil, Ben VanderMey, Kenneth Farmer, David Dahlgren, and Liann Pattinson round out the cast alongside the three leads. The Minute You Wake Up Dead arrives later this year, with a release set for Nov. 4.

The Minute You Wake Up Dead Provides Perfect Casting

The Minute You Wake Up Dead has a little something for everyone in their three leads. Yellowstone fans will rejoice to see Cole Hauser back on the big screen. Hauser plays Rip Wheeler on the popular TV series, though he regularly receives roles in films such as Panama and The Last Champion. Earlier in his career, Hauser appeared in some notable films, including, Dazed and Confused, 2 Fast 2 Furious, and Good Will Hunting.

Jaimie Alexander is best known for her time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically in the Thor films. The actress has played Sif in three installments of the franchise led by Chris Hemsworth, as well as appearing in the Disney+ television shows What If…? and Loki. Of course, fans will be delighted to see Morgan Freeman in the sheriff role, attempting to solve the mystery started by Hauser and Alexander’s characters. Freeman’s schedule is busy following the film, with parts in Hate to See You Go, A Good Person, and Muti.

Fans can see all three Hollywood stars when The Minute You Wake Up Dead breaks into theaters and On Demand on November 4 from Lionsgate.
