The famous spud now joins the galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars is no stranger to many forums of merchandise for all ages. Video games, Happy Meal toys, cereal, and more. With The Book of Boba Fett streaming on Disney+ and The Mandalorian getting ready for season 3, the new options for products and marketing are endless. Now, the classic Mr.Potato Head is getting a makeover, Star Wars style.

Mr. Potato Head is going full-on Mandalorian with Hasbro in this new version of our spud friend. He won’t be alone either as he has a little Grogu Tater Tot to join him on his adventures. The Yamdalorian and the Tot, as it is known, include a potato body, a base with feet, helmet, armor, cape, eyes, two arms, two ears, nose, and a mustache. The Potato Head also has a pouch, which the Grogu Tot figure fits into for safekeeping. Take a look at the image below. As you can see, the Yamdalorian looks very cool with his classic helmet on.

You can pre-order the Star Wars Potato Head, The Yamdalorian and the Tot figure here at Entertainment Earth now for $15.99, with a release date set for February 2022. This is not the first time (and won’t be the last) that Hasbro and Mr.Potato Head traveled to a galaxy far, far away. Take a look at some of these other creative versions that could join your collection and create a unique world of Spud Wars.

Mr. Potato Head was invented and developed by George Lerner in 1949 and was first manufactured and distributed by Hasbro in 1952. It was the first toy advertised on television and has remained in production since. In its original form, Mr. Potato Head was offered as separate plastic parts with pushpins to be attached to a real potato or another vegetable. Of course, that was not going to last very long, and due to complaints regarding rotting vegetables and new government safety regulations, Hasbro began including a plastic potato body with the toy set in 1964.

The original toy was subsequently joined by Mrs. Potato Head and supplemented with accessories, including a car and boat trailer. Of course, when Pixar released Toy Story, the classic toy got another surge and sales went up, which brought out new versions of the toy and new accessories such as houses, clothes and more. Mr. Potato Head remained one of the main characters through all four films, shorts and specials, which can all be watched on Disney+.

I imagine as the series continues, we could see more unique versions making their way to toy shelves and online very shortly. The Mandalorian is still filming but is scheduled to debut sometime in 2022 on Disney+; however, you can stream both seasons right now. The Book of Boba Fett is also on Disney+ every Wednesday with a brand new episode. Hasbro has many characters that would look pretty good crossing over into the world of potatoes and toys.
