If you’re wondering if Ms. Marvel will get renewed at Disney+, your guess is as good as that of series star Iman Vellani. At this time, the series has not been renewed with no indication that a second season will happen, though the first season does leave the door open for a continuation. We also know Vellani will be back as Ms. Marvel on the big screen for The Marvels, but whether she’ll be back on Disney+ for more of Ms. Marvel remains to be seen.

The subject of a renewal was brought up to Vellani in a chat with Deadline at the D23 Expo. She was asked about the prospects of Ms. Marvel season 2 happening, and for her part, Vellani still has no idea. While she doesn’t know whether or not there will ever be more episodes of the show, Vellani adds that she hopes the series does get renewed, suggesting that perhaps those who want a renewal should get a petition going. As Vellani puts it:

“They don’t tell me anything. So, you’re not going to hear anything [from me]. Hopefully. Yeah, we’ve got to start a petition or something.”

We may or may not see more of Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel, but there’s still a “crazy journey” ahead for the superhero. Iman Vellani also spoke with Deadline about the character’s return in The Marvels which was showcased at D23. She teased how the film also includes new scenes with the Khan family before teasing her team-up with Brie Larsen.

Nia DaCosta directs The Marvels using a screenplay by Megan McDonnell. Along with Vellani, Larson, and Parris, the film also features Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as Nick Fury. Ms. Marvel stars Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur will also be featured as Kamala Khan’s family while Zawe Ashton has been cast to play a villain.

The Marvels will be released in theaters on July 28, 2023. You can also find Ms. Marvel streaming on Disney+.
