The MCU has been killing it on Disney+ for nearly a year and a half now with five shows down, one currently airing, and not a single flop yet. Fans were curious how Marvel would continue the franchise’s now-legendary reputation after the conclusive events of Endgame, and Marvel has answered every call. While the MCU spent 2021 premiering shows based on characters that have already been firmly established, they’re now treading into uncharted territory by debuting three different shows that will star new heroes – one of which is Ms. Marvel.

The show that debuts 16-year-old Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) as the titular character will premiere in June, with a trailer dropping in March that introduced audiences to the new hero. Now, it’s already been reported that Kamala’s powers in the comics will be slightly different from her powers in the MCU. Since Kamala is obsessed with Captain Marvel, the MCU decided to make Kamala’s powers similar to her role model’s. That being said, fans are extremely excited for this project to drop on Disney+ as not a whole lot is known about the upcoming hero, and audiences are eager to find out. But, with Kamala being a teenage girl, it’s safe to say that she might need a little super guidance in her series. So what other MCU heroes might make an appearance?

Captain Marvel

Even if it’s a quick cameo, this is the most obvious. The entire premise behind Kamala’s character (and her alter-ego name) is that she’s obsessed with Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel (Brie Larson). Kamala is actually obsessed with all of the Avengers, but Captain Marvel is by far her favorite. So, with Kamala gaining cosmic superpowers that resemble the likes of Captain Marvel, it could be a safe bet that Carol Danvers will appear due to the nature of Kamala’s power.

After all, cosmic energy has been known to be a different kind of animal when it comes to powers in the MCU, and we’re willing to bet that Kamala gaining her powers through cosmic energy might have some sort of consequences. Not only that, but Kamala being obsessed with Carol Danvers makes sense in the comics, but in the MCU, Captain Marvel hasn’t really been around on Earth that much (ergo, a brief cameo appearance from Danvers could go a long way towards explaining Kamala’s infatuation with her). The cherry on top, Kamala is already confirmed to be appearing in the Captain Marvel sequel, The Marvels. So, you know, they’re going to have to meet somehow.

Monica Rambeau

Speaking of cosmic connections to Captain Marvel, the daughter of Maria Rambeau is the next safest bet to appear in Ms. Marvel. Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) made her debut in 2021’s WandaVision and gained some sort of cosmic powers (that were never fully explained) when she physically passed through Wanda’s Hex. So, with Monica also set to appear in the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel, it would make a lot of sense for Monica to appear in Ms. Marvel to explain further what’s been going on with her powers for the last year. Perhaps, if the MCU decides to keep things chronological, Monica has been spending the last year perfecting her new powers and can now step in as a mentor for Kamala while she tries to learn how to control her own newfound abilities.

Fantastic Four

This is a long shot, and we aren’t expecting it to actually happen, but hear us out. The trailer for Ms. Marvel that dropped in March explicitly stated that Kamala’s new powers feel “cosmic.” With that in mind, it’s only logical to assume that other characters from the ‘cosmic’ side of the MCU might show up (even in a cameo appearance) to help Kamala out. Remember – Kamala is 16 years old in this series. Unlike Peter Parker or Shuri, who were super-genius protegees, Kamala was really just a Captain Marvel fan-girl before attaining her powers.

Now, we’re not saying she isn’t going to grow to be a prominent hero in her own right, but she will need some help from people who have a background in cosmic powers – enter Fantastic Four. Again, it wouldn’t have to be more than a cameo, but perhaps the series could conclude with an end-credit scene of Kamala meeting Reed and Sue Richard, two super-scientists who would be more than curious how a teenager girl got cosmic powers.

Nova

     Marvel Comics

Nova is another long-shot but another cosmic hero who has been rumored to make his MCU debut for quite some time. The latest trailers for the upcoming Doctor Strange 2 movie have shown brief glimpses of a cosmic-style hero, and fans have speculated that it might indeed be Nova. Richard Rider is an adult for most of his comic book life, but he obtains his cosmic powers as a teenager – just like Kamala. Another potential mentor if Rider ends up being an adult, or if the MCU decides to make Rider a teenager, he could be a friendly cosmic-ally to Kamala and also be a potential addition to a Young Avengers film down the road. Long shot, we know, but never count out long shots in the MCU.
