Based on the true story of the infamous “Watcher” house in New Jersey, the Netflix series follows Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale as a married couple who moves into what should have been their dream home only to find themselves facing the wrath of a relentless stalker. “Yeah, that article is so freaky. That’s what got me in!” Watts said of an article by The Cut detailing the true story The Watcher is based on, per EW. “I’m only just now getting into prep, we’re going to start shooting soon. It’s exciting, I can’t say much more.”
On marking her return to horror two decades after appearing in The Ring, she added, “I’m thrilled to be working with Ryan, he seems to have the Midas touch. It’s a genre that you know I love.”
The Watcher will hit Netflix on Oct. 13, 2022.
