MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
In the midst of all this, social media has become its own battleground, with supporters of the show clashing with those who want nothing more than to seemingly badmouth the series in anyway possible. While Neil Gaiman has no direct involvement in The Rings of Power, as a lover of Tolkien and someone who has seen his own Sandman series come under similar fire, the author has been happy to express his feelings about those eager to kill off the series after just two episodes. When asked what he thought of Musk’s opinion, he replied:
“Elon Musk doesn’t come to me for advice on how to fail to buy Twitter, and I don’t go to him for film, TV or literature criticism.”
Bad Reviews Won’t Stop The Rings of Power In Its Tracks
Just ahead of the series debut, The Rings of Power showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay revealed in an interview with the Radio Times that they have already completed work on the draft scripts for season 2 and production is “a couple of weeks” away from starting. Of course, the creation of a series with the scope and visual effects of The Rings of Power doesn’t happen overnight and that means it will probably be 2024 before the next season debuts on Prime Video.
