The Sandman isn’t going anywhere. Recently, it was announced that The Sandman had been renewed for a second season at Netflix. That followed a period of fans wondering whether or not the series would be renewed, as there had been rumors that the pricey series wouldn’t move forward. Netflix made fans much happier when it was announced last month that season 2 is a go at the streaming platform.
A new report at Deadline now suggests Warner Bros. Discovery head David Zaslav isn’t happy with how the deals for streaming content on Netflix are structured. That’s reportedly led to a pause on selling any more shows to Netflix for the time being. As The Sandman is handled by Zaslav, that had some fans nervous that season 2 is now in jeopardy. But as Gaiman clarified with a Twitter post, fans need not worry, as Zaslav’s current issues with Netflix don’t affect the production of The Sandman.

“Sandman Season 2 has been commissioned by a Netflix and is real. Whatever behind the scenes wrangling and negotiating needed to happen to make this a reality has already occurred,” Gaiman said.
