Netflix and Natasha Lyonne’s Nadia Vulvokov are once again tackling time travel in the latest trailer for Russian Doll season 2. Only this time, rather than being thrown into a Groundhog Day-style loop, Nadia is instead transported back in time to the glorious 1980s where she must discover what exactly she needs to do in order to fix time. All while dealing with her own mysterious family history. You can watch the trailer for Russian Doll Season 2 below courtesy of Netflix’s official YouTube channel:
Much like the first Russian Doll adventure, much mystery remains regarding what the series will involve. The only information released alongside the footage reads; “After enduring the wildest night of their lives — over and over — Nadia and Alan stumble into another bewildering existential adventure.” It does not really tell us much, but would you have it any other way?

It also seems that Nadia will somehow have an even more stressful time-traveling experience this season, as she attempts to uncover the links between a family’s stolen gold, World War II, and her own childhood. If that were not already more than enough for her to contend with, Nadia will also pay a little visit to a psych ward. Against her will, of course.
The first series of Russian Doll introduces audiences to Natasha Lyonne as Nadia Vulvokov, a software engineer who finds herself reliving her 36th birthday party over and over and over again after she is caught in a time loop. After dying repeatedly in various ways while she attempts to discover how and why time has decided to mess with her, Nadia eventually meets a man named Alan Zaveri, who has also been experiencing exactly the same thing.
Revealed in the newly released trailer, Russian Doll Season 2 will see Nadia and Alan once again unite as they try to figure out why time has seemingly been broken, and what Nadia needs to do this time to put things right. The show’s second season will also see Nadia involve her friends in her latest time hop, including her best friend Maxine, played once again by Greta Lee.
Russian Doll Season 2 also sees Charlie Bennett reprise the role of Alan, while adding the likes of Schitt’s Creek star Annie Murphy and District 9 actor Sharlto Copley to proceedings.
