As fans of Hocus Pocus await news of a trailer to get their first real look at upcoming sequel Hocus Pocus 2, a new image taken on the set in Rhode Island has given fans the best look yet at the Sanderson sisters’ childhood home. During the filming of Hocus Pocus 2, many images were shared by those living in the area where filming took place in a purpose-built village set. The latest image, shared on Instagram by Hocus Pocus Guide, has now given a close-up view of the small 17th century home of the Sandersons that will play a part in a portion of the movie.

Hocus Pocus 2 has been rumored to be in development for many years, but with the advent of Disney+ and their need for new and alluring content, fan dreams became a reality when it was announced that the film was heading into production with Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy all returning to reprise their roles. Filming mainly took place in Rhode Island, where locals were very quick with their cameras and managed to share many shots of the 1600s village built for scenes expected to appear in flashbacks of when the Sandersons were only children.

Hocus Pocus 2 Joins Many Revivals and Reboots Being Developed for Disney+

     Disney

Since Disney+ launched, the House of Mouse has, like many other streamers, been eager to give households an excellent reason to subscribe and stay subscribed to their service. This has included new content but has also allowed the development of some sequels and revivals that had been stuck in development hell for decades. When Hocus Pocus premiered in 1993, the film was an instant hit, and its popularity as a Halloween movie has not diminished over the years. While a sequel was discussed many times, it was only in the last two years that it was finally given the platform it needed to become get cameras rolling.

Along with Hocus Pocus 2, Disney is also developing a number of projects that provide belated sequels to much-loved franchises or give a second chance to some that didn’t have a fair shot in their first outings. These include Enchanted 2 and Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, series based on Willow, National Treasure, The Spiderwick Chronicles, and Percy Jackson and The Olympians. With a great wave of nostalgia hanging around many revived movie and TV franchises, Hocus Pocus 2 will provide Disney+ with a viewing boost when it arrives later this year and will hopefully live up to the growing expectation being put on it.
