A delightfully creepy new poster for Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight reveals the personality Mr. Knight in all his glory. Released by the official Twitter account for Moon Knight, the series stars Oscar Isaac stars as Marc Spector, a mercenary who suffers from dissociative identity disorder, with Mr. Knight one of the personalities used by Spector to tackle crime.

Mr. Knight is one of the more recent personalities introduced into the mythos of Moon Knight. Sporting a crisp, white suit and similar mask to the titular superhero alter ego, Mr. Knight tends to take on more of a detective role in proceedings, often acting as a liaison between Moon Knight the police. Much more grounded than the caped supernatural hero who inhabits Marc Spector’s body and mind, Mr. Knight should provide the series with a break from the theatrics of Moon Knight. Though make no mistake, Mr. Knight is not against getting the blood of bad guys all over that white suit.

Moon Knight Will Introduce Marvel’s Most Peculiar Superhero So Far

Created by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin for Marvel Comics, Moon Knight is likely to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most peculiar superhero so far. Starring Oscar Isaac as the main character, Moon Knight begins as the mercenary Marc Spector, who is left for dead after a mission gone wrong. Before succumbing to his fate, Marc makes a deal with the Egyptian God Knonshu, becoming the bearer of his powers on Earth in exchange for his life.

Based on the various trailers, Moon Knight is expected to introduce the character under a different name and identity, that of Steven Grant. A mild-mannered gift-shop employee suffering from blackouts and memories of another life, Steven will slowly realize his dissociative identity disorder (DID), uncovering his bizarre origin as a mercenary possessed by a God.

Alongside Marc Spector and Steven Grant, the series will also introduce the titular Moon Knight. A superhero with Olympic-level athleticism, capable of performing complex acrobatics, as well as a talented combat strategist and a great variety of weapons, Moon Knight is determined to fight crime with the help of Mr. Knight, a more upscale suit-wearing personality.

Leading man Oscar Isaac has described the unorthodox approach to superhero storytelling in Moon Knight saying, “We could make very weird decisions. At the moment, at least — and I don’t imagine it’s going to go backwards — it feels like that’s where more of the risk is being taken because it can, financially.” Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige meanwhile has teased the brutality of the character saying, “He’s brutal. It’s been fun to work with Disney+ and see the boundaries shifting on what we’re able to do.”

Created by Jeremy Slater, Moon Knight stars Oscar Isaac as Steven Grant/Marc Spector/Moon Knight and Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow, a cult leader who encourages Spector to embrace his inner darkness. Additionally, the series stars Gaspard Ulliel, Lucy Thackeray, May Calamawy, with The Egyptian moon god Khonshu being voiced by F. Murray Abraham.

Moon Knight is scheduled for release on March 30, 2022, and will consist of six episodes as part of Phase Four of the MCU.
