The trailer kicks off with the country searching high and low for Billy Butcher and his associates. The Supes, meanwhile, are none too happy with them and are on a quest for vengeance, out to prove that the world still needs superheroes. The footage is action-packed, violent and most definitely of the R-rated variety. Plus, it’s all set to the tone of We Didn’t Start the Fire by Billy Joel. Those concerned that the creative team was going to tone things down in season 2 quite obviously have nothing to worry about.

The Boys season 2 picks up with the gang on the run from the law and being hunted by the Supes. They are trying to regroup and fight back against Vought, with Hughie, Mother’s Milk, Frenchie and Kimiko in hiding as they attempt to adjust to a new normal. Meanwhile, Billy Butcher is nowhere to be found. Over with the Supes, Starlight is trying to find her place in The Seven as Homelander sets his sights on assuming control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a new social media-savvy hero who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage, with Vought aiming to capitalize on the country’s paranoia.
