Eddie Murphy may not have won an Academy Award but that doesn’t mean America doesn’t love him.
In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Home Entertainment’s Norbit placed No. 1 on Nielsen VideoScan’s First Alert sales chart and Home Media Magazine’s video rental chart.
On the sales side, Sony had a very good week with The Messengers debuting at No. 2 and Seinfeld: The Complete Eighth Season coming in at No. 4.
The Weinstein Co. watched Hannibal Rising fall to the No. 5 spot. Buena Vista Home Entertainment’s Apocalypto moved from No. 2 to No. 3.
In rentals, The Messengers came in at No. 2
Lastly, in HD-DVD sales Norbit came in at the No. 2 spot and it was No. 4 on Blu-ray disc. Warner Bros. saw Planet Earth: The Complete Collection as the No. 1 HD-DVD title while Buena Vista’s Apocalypto was the top selling Blu-ray disc.
