After being announced as one of the stars being honored with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2022, Norman Reedus will finally claim his place on the famous walkway on September 27. The ceremony will take place on Hollywood Boulevard outside Hollywood Toys & Costumes and will be attended by Walking Dead showrunner Greg Nicotero and Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro, and will see Reedus’ star placed near that of a very appropriate filmmaker: George A. Romero.
Reedus has played Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead since the first season of the popular zombie horror series, and as the series draws to a close he will not only be there to see out the show but also ride off into the sunset to appear in his own spin-off series next year. For that reason, it is appropriate that Reedus takes his place on the Walk of Fame near where the master of the zombie movie George A. Romero’s star is found.

As well as being the 2,734th person to have a star placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Reedus also is the first cast member from The Walking Dead to have the honor of taking a place amongst the walkway of Hollywood legends. The event will be live streamed via the Walk of Fame website for all fans of Reedus and The Walking Dead to tune into wherever they are in the world.
Norman Reedus Was Thrilled to Receive His Walk of Fame Accolade
While Norman Reedus has appeared in many TV shows, movies, and video games over the years, the actor’s Television Star on the Walk of Fame has come about thanks in a large part to his involvement in The Walking Dead, and as one of the most popular characters in the series, it is not surprising that he has become one of the first stars from the show to receive the momentous achievement. Back in June last year when the original announcement was made, Reedus wrote on his Twitter:
Of course, Reedus is not the only star from the world of television to be honored in the 2022 list of star recipients. Those joining Reedus on the Boulevard this year are Byron Allen, Greg Berlanti, Ricky Gervais, Peter Krause, Bob Odenkirk, Holly Robinson Peete, Norman Reedus, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jean Smart, Ming-Na Wen, and Kenan Thompson. Movie actors that will also be given the honors include Michael B. Jordan, Carrie Fisher, James Hong, Macaulay Culkin, Willem Dafoe, Salma Hayek, Helen Hunt, Regina King, Ray Liotta, Ewan McGregor, Adam McKay, Jason Momoa, and Tessa Thompson.
“Thank [you] for all the nice messages. You all are so cool, thank [you] for all the messages, that star is your as much as mine. Forever grateful to all of you. Who woulda thought?”
Fans of Reedus will soon see him back in action as Daryl Dixon in the final ever episodes of The Walking Dead, which will kick off on AMC on October 2, but that will by no means be the last we see from The Walking Dead universe, with several new spin-off series coming next year.
