MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

Season 5 of Discovery will follow “Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery uncover a mystery that sends them on an epic adventure across the galaxy to find an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries,” according to the season description on StarTrek.com. “But there are others on the hunt as well … dangerous foes who are desperate to claim the prize for themselves and will stop at nothing to get it.”

As the Discovery crew travels across the galaxy, they will meet three new Starfleet friends, such as Callum Keith Rennie’s Captain Rayner, a gruff Starfleet captain, who has “some things to learn” in Season 5, and new foes. Eve Harlow and Elias Toufexis, who are playing Moll and L’ak, both former couriers turned outlaws, were described as “Bonnie and Clyde-kind of characters” by co-showrunner and executive producer Michelle Paradise during NYCC’s Star Trek universe panel. Per the official StarTrek.com description, Moll is “highly intelligent and dangerous, with an impressive strategic mind and a sharp wit,” who goes into “every situation with a clear plan and stays focused and clear-headed on her goal, even when things go awry.” As for her partner in crime, L’ak, he is described as “tough, impulsive and fiercely protective of his beloved partner, Moll,” who doesn’t care about collateral damage as long as she is safe.
