Based on the YouTube channel created by James Rallison, Oddballs is created by Rallison and Ethan Banville. The voice cast includes James Rallison, Julian Gant, Kimberly Brooks, Gary Anthony Williams, and Carl Faruolo. You can read the official synopsis for the new series below.

Oddballs follows James, a bubble-shaped boy, whose observations on life fuel his comedic rants at everyday annoyances and elevates them to laughably absurd heights. Along with his best friends Max (a talking crocodile) and Echo (a girl who claims to be from the future), James’ ridiculous schemes to question norms often result in disaster.

Oddballs will serve as an expansion of the premise viewers know from the YouTube channel. James Rallison created TheOdd1sOut and announced on the channel in June that the Netflix series was officially happening. The animated characters helped make the announcement in the video with Rallison sharing details on how it came together.

“I hope you enjoy the show, when you watch it, later this year,” Rallison says in the video, which also included a brief sneak peek at the show.

On the show’s official Twitter account, the team recently commented about how “wild” it is seeing these characters on Netflix, even with millions of YouTube subscribers.

“The show’s not out yet, but you can see it on Netflix,” the tweet reads. “It’s so wild seeing bubble boy on the platform. The crew did such an amazing job on the show, you’re going to love it.”

Oddballs will hit Netflix on Oct. 7, 2022. You can stream the series at Netflix.com.
