Australian actress Sophie Lowe has signed on to play Alice in ABC’s Once Upon a Time spin-off entitled Once: Wonderland. Peter Gadiot and Michael Socha have also joined the cast of this potential new series set in Wonderland before the dreaded curse.
The story is told through Alice’s point-of-view, and features her mysterious love interest Cyrus (Peter Gadiot) and the Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha), a sarcastic adventurer and loner.
Once Upon a Time creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz are writing the 15-20 page presentation, with writers Zack Estrin and Jane Espenson also consulting on the project. Production will begin April 7, after Once Upon a Time wraps its Season 2 run.

If the project gets picked up to series, Zack Estrin will serve as showrunner alongside Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, who will pull double duty by running both the spin-off and the original series.
