Outer Range Wasn’t Designed to Get More Seasons

While the first season of Outer Range leaves the door open for more seasons, the first season was designed to stand on its own. Speaking with Inverse about the series ahead of the renewal, creator Brian Watkins said he was “grateful that the fans seem to want" a second season. Confident that season 1 stands on its own even without another season on the way, Watkins also recommended rewatching those episodes to spot Easter eggs that were missed by fans the first time around.
“You know if you, my sincerest hope is that is if you rewatch it, it reflects the mantra that I had started with the show and guides us making it. It’s that phrase, ‘Uphold the wonder,’” Watkins said. “It’s our hope that these eight episodes really serve as a tinderbox for the imagination.”
You can find Outer Range streaming on Prime Video. Season 2 does not yet have a premiere date.
