Bollywood star Ranjit Chowdhry, a veteran actor also known for his roles on The Office and Prison Break, has reportedly passed away. According to Indian actress Dolly Thakore, the Indian-born actor had traveled from his New York home to his home country months ago for dental treatment, but the national shutdown left him unable to return to America. Last week, Chowdhry suffered a ruptured ulcer in his intestine, undergoing emergency surgery at a hospital in Mumbai....

When you put three actors in a movie who have made appearances as comic book superheroes then during the promotion of that movie there is going to be one inevitable question that will arise sooner or later: which of their superhero alter-egos would win in a fight. At the premiere of Red Notice, Ryan Reynolds took up the task of answering that very question about his movie co-stars Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson’s respective DC roles as Wonder Woman and Black Adam if they were ever in a brawl with his Marvel character Deadpool....

Some memes never die, no matter how old they get. CSAA has taken that slogan to heart with their newest commercial involving Rick Astley and his infamous “Rick Roll”! The commercial can be viewed below. The commercial features Astley almost perfectly recreating his infamous music video, backgrounds and all. These clips are spliced in with Astley giving a performance to a crew of employees at their desks. The chorus lines “never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna run around and desert you” are focused on, cleverly getting the company’s message across....

DreamWorks Animation has released the first trailer and poster for Rise of the Guardians, which arrives in theaters November 21. Chris Pine, Hugh Jackman, and Alec Baldwin lead an all-star voice cast in this fantasy adventure where childhood characters such as Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy actually watch over children across the world, protecting them from the evil Pitch (a.k.a. the Boogeyman). Marvel Studios is currently one of the most powerful players in Hollywood. Every movie release, no matter what reviews it receives or what controversies surround it, is a guaranteed money-spinner and in many ways have helped ensure the survival of many theater chains following the Covid pandemic shut-downs. Lionsgate announced it has acquired domestic distribution rights to Deliver Us From Evil, a documentary about a pedophile Catholic priest whose serial rapes were known to, and concealed by, the American Church for over 30 years. The feature film debut by Emmy Award-winning writer/director Amy Berg, Deliver Us From Evil made its world premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival, where it won the top nonfiction prize, the Target Documentary Award....

The Good It’s nice to see that after all these years, Woody was able to step back and create a film so removed and different from certain aspects of himself. The Bad Overall, the ending employed here doesn’t work as well as it does in other Woody Allen films. I was excited to see Match Point simply because, as a fan of Woody Allen, his last film Melinda and Melinda, made me want to shoot myself....

Doctor Who is going through changes, and with every new Doctor comes a new companion. Actress Millie Gibson has been revealed as Ruby Sunday, who will be accompanying Ncuti Gatwa’s fifteenth Doctor when he takes the reins from David Tennant in 2024. Gibson is best known for playing the role of Kellie Neelan in British soap Coronation Street, with Doctor Who being her first leading role since leaving the soap earlier in the year....

Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak will return to Dunder Mifflin in the one-hour series finale of The Office, airing Thursday, May 17 at 9 PM ET on NBC. Beth Grant joins NBC’s fall drama Mockingbird Lane as The Munsters’ snooping neighbor Maryanne. A favorite actor of Mockingbird Lane producer and pilot director Bryan Fuller, Beth Grant previously appeared on both Wonderfalls and Pushing Daisies, where she played the same character, Marianne Marie Beattle. Beth Grant’s Maryanne will be a wheelchair-bound woman in her forties, suffering through a midlife crisis. She grows exceedingly paranoid when her creepy new neighbors, The Munsters, move in next door....

NBC announced the premieres for its original alternative programs in Summer 2007 that feature the return of last summer’s hit America’s Got Talent (with new host Jerry Springer) on May 29 as well as an updated edition of the hit series Last Comic Standing (with new host Bill Bellamy) on June 13 and the launch of Age of Love reality dating series (with host Mark Consuelos) on June 18. In addition, NBC will reprise the popular weight-loss series The Biggest Loser (with new host Alison Sweeney from NBC’s Days of Our Lives) in late summer....

BattleBots is coming back to a television near you this year. ABC tried to bring back the robot battle series in 2015, but the show didn’t quite work on network television, and only lasted two seasons, with ABC canceling it in 2016. However, that hasn’t prevented Discovery and the Science Channel from seeing potential in bringing BattleBots back, giving it another go. While no exact premiere date has been set, the BattleBots revival is slated to return this spring and will air on both networks....
