The Mighty Boosh director Paul King has a new feature film headed our way, and it looks pretty crazy. Starring Edward Hogg and Simon Farnaby, and featuring Julian Barratt, Noel Fielding, and Richard Ayoade, Bunny and the Bull follow the adventures of a young shut-in as he takes an imaginary road trip inside his apartment, based on mementos and memories of a European trek from years before. We think of popular superhero movies today as big budget, high production value events. This wasn’t always the case though. In the days before high quality computer special effects, superhero movies struggled to recreate the outlandish elements of their source material, resulting in things like 1990’s Captain America, 1991’s Punisher with Dolph Lundgren, Roger Corman’s fabled Fantastic 4 movie, and the infamous Howard the Duck. Aimed primarily at younger audiences and usually shot on a shoe-string budget, these movies relied on audiences not paying too close attention or demanding too much in the way of production values....

After months and months of mystery, we now know with absolute certainty (at least we think we do) that director Jordan Peele’s Nope is all about aliens. Speaking with Essence, star Daniel Kaluuya has re-confirmed the extra-terrestrial presence, while suggesting that there is a lot more going on than Nope simply being an alien invasion movie, comparing the project to none other than the Steven Spielberg sci-fi classic, Close Encounters of the Third Kind....

The NBC comedy series Parks and Recreation has found its “Tammy 1,’ with actress Patricia Clarkson coming aboard to portray the mysterious character. “Tammy 1” is the first ex-wife of Nick Offerman’s Ron Swanson, who was shown from behind in the Season 3 finale back in May. Megan Mullally portrayed “Tammy 2,” Ron’s second ex-wife, although “Tammy 1” will be a much different character. Here’s what executive producer Michael Schur had to say about the role....

The seniors of Riverdale High graduated in this week’s episode of Riverdale, and a surprise cameo appearance from the late Luke Perry left fans feeling very emotional. Lexus has tapped former Friends star Lisa Kudrow to headline a series on their new Internet-only branded channel, taking the reins in a shortform comedy series titled Web Therapy, in which she plays a nutty shrink. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lexus’ new channel is called L Studio, and is available at LStudio.com. In Web Therapy, Kudrow plays Fiona Wallice, a psychotherapist who conducts absurdly abridged three-minute sessions via the Internet that do little to help her clients....

Ten-year-old actress Abigail Breslin, who can currently be seen in the critically-hailed, independent feature Little Miss Sunshine, will guest star in an upcoming episode of Grey’s Anatomy. We recently reported the return of two of Lost’s castaways and now we have word that one mysterious character will come back as well. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Titus Welliver will return in the final season as the unnamed character who served as Jacob’s (Mark Pellegrino) nemesis and was simply called “The Man in Black.” Welliver’s unnamed character appeared in six episodes last season and while it wasn’t clear how many episodes he would appear in for this final season, it does seem that there could be some closure with this character due to his return....

The Good If you get it, then you know what a great show this is. The Bad No Special Features. Now this is a show that I loved as young kid and I am happy to see that Married… with Children: The Complete Fifth Season not only holds up, but really seems like a sitcom that in it’s Fifth season still had the magic. The first confirmed cast for the BBC One mini-series, in association with HBO, adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s The Casual Vacancy has been announced today. The confirmed cast includes Michael Gambon, Keeley Hawes, Rory Kinnear, Monica Dolan, Julia McKenzie, and introduces Abigail Lawrie.
