Oscilloscope Laboratories announced today that it has acquired North American distribution rights to Michel Gondry’s documentary, The Thorn in the Heart (“L’Epine dans le Coeur”), a personal look at the life of Gondry family matriarch, his aunt Suzette Gondry, and her relationship with her son, Jean-Yves. The Thorn in the Heart had its world premiere screening in the official selection at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. Oscilloscope will open the film in theaters, with a DVD and digital release to follow....

Starz announced today the ultimate romantic gesture for Outlander fans with the early release of the Outlander season five premiere on Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14th, available exclusively to STARZ subscribers only on the STARZ app and STARZ On Demand. The announcement was made by Outlander stars Caitriona Balfe (Claire Fraser), Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser), Sophie Skelton (Brianna Randall) and Richard Rankin (Roger Wakefield) during the Outlander season 5 premiere event via a Facebook Live stream of the red carpet at the Hollywood Palladium....

Ted Grey (Milo Ventimiglia) comes to the pathology department at University Hospital in Philadelphia and finds that these brilliant minds use them to pull off perfect murders. They then use various constructs of the pathological sciences to figure out how the murders were achieved....

Thor: Love and Thunder is now only six months away and that means rumors are beginning to circulate about what and who we can expect to see in the summer’s Marvel offering. One of the latest suggestions would see the return of Peter Dinklage as Eitri the Dwarf, who was last seen helping Thor forge Stormbreaker during Avengers: Infinity War. The possible inclusion of Dinklage in the cast was reported by Cosmic Circus, who noticed that the crew of Thor: Love and Thunder includes a hairstylist for the former Game of Thrones star....

At end of last week’s Ray Donovan episode, we left off with two key moments, one being the marriage between Terry (Eddie Marsan) and Maureen (Tara Buck) that went from a wonderful celebratory moment to a hostile fist fight between the Donovans and the Doughertys. The second being later that night, and Ray Donovan (Liev Schreiber) is at his house and actress Natalie James (Lili Simmons) is standing in his doorway because she had just shot her husband and was asking for Ray’s help....

The Star Wars sequel trilogy was massively divisive among fans of the long-running franchise. Of the three movies, The Last Jedi became the most criticized among them, and director Rian Johnson took a lot of the heat for it. However, when it comes to his experience on the movie, it seems that Johnson’s biggest frustration was how the film was perceived as bad, despite critics praising it. In a new interview with The New Yorker, Johnson was discussing Glass Onion, his Knives Out sequel, but the subject of Star Wars inevitably came up....

On the eve of Halloween II hitting theaters, Rob Zombie has already set up his next horror remake: a reinvent of the 1958 horror classic The Blob, which launched the career of Steve McQueen. According to Variety, Zombie will write, direct and produce the remake. In the original The Blob, an object from space crashes into a field, containing a red blob-like substance that absorbs the humans it contacts and grows exponentially....

It seems that a current box office star will be resurrecting a project started by the late Steve McQueen. Deadline is reporting that Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, film producer Susan Downey, have formed the production company dubbed Team Downey and their first project will be entitled Yucatan. The project has quite a history already, with the film to be based on the 1700 pages of notes and storyboards by the late screen icon Steve McQueen, which were discovered years after his death....

Imeem has made the entire soundtrack for Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are available! The physical CD becomes available on September 29. The soundtrack is done by Karen O and The Kids. Sherlock star Martin Freeman has signed on to star in the FX limited series Fargo, based on the 1996 feature directed by Joel Coen and Ethan Coen. Martin Freeman is playing Lester Nygaard, a downtrodden insurance salesman with a nagging wife, whose life is changed forever when a mysterious stranger named Lorne Malvo (Billy Bob Thornton) arrives in town and sets him on a destructive path. The future of Marvel TV continues to take shape as Cloak and Dagger has been canceled. The Freeform series concluded its sophomore season a handful of months ago and had not been handed a renewal. It had been heavily suspected that the show wasn’t going to return, but now the news has been confirmed. Given the timing of the information, the cancelation takes on a slightly new meaning as Marvel, on the small screen, is seeing a seismic shift....

Marvel’s hotly-anticipated Fantastic Four movie has found its director in WandaVision’s Matt Shakman, reports Deadline. The film previously had Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) attached to direct, but he stepped away earlier this year to focus on non-superhero projects. Matt Shakman, on the other hand, is coming off the Emmy-nominated WandaVision, which kicked off Phase Four of the MCU and also marked Marvel’s first streaming series. Shakman helmed all nine episodes of WandaVision, and his execution seems to have impressed not only Marvel but other Hollywood studios as well....

Screen Terrier is reporting that actors Aaron Johnson and Mia Wasikowska have joined the new production Albert Nobbs. Aaron Johnson and Mia Wasikowska will be playing Joe and Helen, replacing actors Orlando Bloom and Amanda Seyfried, who we reported back in March were attached to the project. It seems that production delays are the reason for Orlando Bloom and Amanda Seyfried leaving the movie. Glenn Close stars as the title character, a woman who disguises herself as a man for more than 20 years in 19th Century Ireland so she can survive on her own....

It seems that Michael Bay is undertaking a new sci-fi venture to produce and possibly direct. According to Variety, DreamWorks is finalizing a deal for I Am Number Four, which will be the first in a six-book sci-fi novel series. Bay is currently attached to produce the film, and it was said that he may direct the film as well. One of the more unusual developments is that one of the book’s two authors was said to be James Frey, the infamous author who penned A Million Little Pieces....

Mila Kunis, James Franco, and Casey Affleck have joined the cast of Third Person for writer-director Paul Haggis. We reported in April that Liam Neeson and Olivia Wilde are also starring. The romantic drama follows the inter-connected stories of three couples all living in different cities, Rome, Paris, and New York. Each couple and city represent different phases of a relationship, with Rome representing the beginning, Paris the middle, and New York the end....

Mila Kunis will portray a thriving New Yorker with a dark past in Luckiest Girl Alive. Netflix has just released a trailer for the upcoming mystery film which will land on the streamer October 7, following a limited release in select theaters September 30. Kunis plays Ani FaNelli, who, according to the film’s official logline “appears to have it all: a sought-after position at a glossy magazine, a killer wardrobe, and a dream Nantucket wedding on the horizon....
