Ewan McGregor is allegedly rumored to have signed a deal with Lucasfilm to star in and direct the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series. There have been rumors surrounding the actor’s return to the iconic role for the past few years, including a role in the often-talked about sidelined movie. However, McGregor has denied any of the reports stating he was coming back to the big screen as Obi-Wan. It looks like things may have changed with a new Disney+ live-action Star Wars series reportedly in the works centered on the Jedi Master....

Warner Bros. has picked up Pontius Pilate, a screenplay by Vera Blasi (Woman On Top, Tortilla Soup) that puts a fresh spin on this Biblical figure. The script follows the entire life of Lucius Pontius Pilate, the son of a Roman knight and a cunning warrior in his own right. He is assigned to become the “prefect” (a cop or lawman) of Judea, where his arrogance clouds his judgment and causes the public to despise him....

In celebration of Power Rangers Day, Hasbro capped off its Power Week with the announcement of the 30th season of Power Rangers. Dubbed Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury, the new season will start filming this fall in New Zealand with the episodes planned to start airing in 2023. The new season picks up from where Dino Fury left off, bringing that crew back for a third season. Returning cast members include Russell Curry, Hunter Deno, Jordon Fite, Kai Moya, Chance Perez, and Tessa Rao....

While it’s still not totally clear how director Quentin Tarantino will follow up his Oscar-nominated Inglourious Basterds, it seems he might be revitalizing the Western genre. The New York Daily News spoke with Tarantino at a recent Oscar luncheon, and he revealed a few details about a new Western project. It isn’t clear if this is something that Tarantino is currently writing, or it it’s just in the idea stages right now....

Production is underway in Vancouver, B.C. on Revolution Studios’ Little Man, a comedy directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and starring Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Kerry Washington and Tracy Morgan, it was announced today by Revolution Studios. The film will be released by Columbia Pictures over the Memorial Day weekend on May 26, 2006. Knives Out and its sequel Glass Onion have redefined the murder mystery genre for a new generation, with comical moments being intricately woven into a stone-cold serious whodunit plot that can stand up with the best old fashioned Agatha Christie stories. After Life is a hit. The Ricky Gervais sitcom debuted on Netflix earlier this year, and apparently fans can’t get enough of it. The show has been renewed for season 2, and it will be back sometime next year with all-new, sure to be hilarious yet heartfelt, episodes. Ricky Gervais had this to say about the announcement. It’s set to start streaming during next year’s holiday season, and the first look photo reveals Lohan beaming and surrounded by Christmas lights....

Lindsay Lohan is back and better than ever. The iconic early-2000s star is making her return to acting with the upcoming Netflix rom-com Falling for Christmas this November, after a three-year hiatus. According to The Hollywood Reporter, in the name of branding, independent production and distribution company Lions Gate on Thursday rechristened itself Lionsgate. It also unveiled a new animated logo it will use on its movie, TV, home entertainment and library properties. The onscreen logo begins with images of turning wheels as the camera gradually reveals a metal gate that swings open to show Lionsgate floating in a sunny, cloud-filled sky. The onscreen logo also will undergo appropriate variations for the company’s horror and genre films as well as its family-friendly titles....

Lionsgate, the leading independent filmed entertainment studio, and the American Red Cross, one of the nation’s largest blood collection organizations, today announced a formal partnership for the Fourth Annual Saw “Give Til It Hurts” blood drive benefiting the Red Cross. The blood drive will coincide with the Halloween premiere of the latest title in Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures’ SAW franchise, Saw IV, which opens nationwide on October 26, 2007. The announcement was made jointly by Lionsgate Co-Presidents of Theatrical Marketing Tim Palen and Sarah Greenberg and Gregory S....

It seemed like the Saw franchise was over when Jigsaw was released in 2017, but as we all know you can’t keep a good horror franchise buried for long. With Chris Rock’s Spiral: From The Book of Saw doing reasonably well on its release as a part of the Saw universe, it now looks like there is more Saw on the way with Saw 10 having been green lit by Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures for release in October 2023....

Two CBS pilots have added new cast members with Mary Lynn Rajskub joining How to Be a Gentleman and Michelle Trachtenberg signing on for an Untitled Peter Knight Project. Mary Lynn Rajskub will play Janet on How to Be a Gentleman, the no-nonsense sister of David Hornsby’s character, Alan. We reported earlier today that Kevin Dillon signed on to play Bert, who tries to teach Alan about how to live a better life....
