There are many people currently giving their opinion on who should or shouldn’t be the next James Bond, but one person who certainly isn’t giving it much thought seems to be former Bond actor Pierce Brosnan. As one of the six actors to have portrayed the eternally popular spy, Brosnan is always going to be on the receiving end of questions about the franchise, but it seems that he might not give the answers many interviewers will be hoping for....

Rob and Big star Christopher “Big Black” Boykin has died at the age of 45. TMZ reported that Boykins died sometime Tuesday morning and that no cause of death has been announced. In addition to starring in hit MTV shows with professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdeck, Boykin held two world records recognized by the Guinness Book. Boykin held the world record for urinating while eating three bananas for one minute and another record for eating five powdered donuts in nearly three minutes....

When Rob Zombie first announced that he was making a new movie based on the classic sitcom, The Munsters, no one really knew what to expect. Putting together a director known for bringing a lot of blood and gore to his movies with a fun family-friendly franchise could have gone many ways, but surprisingly Zombie, who is admittedly the biggest Munsters fan out there, is heading down a spooky but PG-13 rated route with this remake....

Angelina Jolie is getting set to take on the Disney villain Maleficent in a new live-action tale which begins production this June. The actress recently talked about taking on this classic character, and said she believed Sleeping Beauty’s evil stepmother is actually a great person. The actress also talked a bit about the look of her title character, revealing she has already been fitted for her horns. “It sounds really crazy to say that there will be something that’s good for young girls in this, because it sounds like you’re saying they should be a villain....

Opening in theaters on February 18th is the new comedy Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, the third chapter in the Big Momma’s House series. The announcement that Marvel Studio’s upcoming Blade movie had lost its director suggested that the film will not be kicking off filming this November as planned. Now it seems that is correct, with The Direct hinting that the shooting schedule has been pushed back a few months to start in spring 2023. Whether this will end up impacting the movie’s release date is as yet unknown, but with Marvel’s filming and release schedules quite tight thanks to the hefty amount of special effects to be worked on, it could be possible that Mahershala Ali’s debut as the vampire hunter could be a little longer in coming than planned....

Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired all North American rights to Woody Allen’s new film, Midnight in Paris. The film stars Kathy Bates, Adrien Brody, Carla Bruni, Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams, Michael Sheen, and Owen Wilson. Midnight in Paris is produced by Letty Aronson, Stephen Tenenbaum, and Jaume Roures. It is financed by Mediapro, the Spain-based company which also funded Vicky Cristina Barcelona and You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger....

If 2022 has taught us anything, it’s that international cinema is the future. Parasite director Bong Joon-ho said it best when he stated, “When you overcome the one-inch-tall barrier of subtitles, you will be introduced to so many more amazing films.” And in the last year, the allure of international cinema has definitely grown for western audiences. This time, the Telugu-language movie RRR managed to become a global phenomenon, and the South Korean mystery thriller Decision to Leave certainly wowed audiences, too....

NBC has announced five new shows they’ve either picked up or green lit for pilot consideration: Variety reports on the drama pilot order, The Watch - an hour about a suburban neighborhood watch group gone terribly wrong. Ed Dector and John Stauss wrote and will exec produce via Sony Pictures TV-based Pariah. Gavin Polone and Jamie Tarses of Pariah also exec produce. Cast-contingent drama pilot order - Journeyman, an hourlong romantic fantasy about a man who travels back in time to fix the lives of people in trouble....

NBC.com has launched a new, exclusive interactive story for the third season of Heroes: Evolutions, the Emmy award winning digital extension of the popular series. Called “Friend or Foe,” the new feature allows users to explore on-air plot lines and engage with characters and other players. The announcement was made by Vivi Zigler, President, NBC Universal Digital Entertainment. “We couldn’t have asked for a better show to work with than Heroes,” said Zigler....

AwesomenessTV has re-invented classic cartoon character Richie Rich for the modern world in a new live action half-hour comedy series, Richie Rich, which will be exclusively available for Netflix members in the US, Canada and Latin America beginning early 2015. Richie Rich is a series about the richest kid in the world. After making a trillion dollars by inventing and selling a cool new green technology, Richie moves into a decked out mansion and instantly starts living the most awesome life ever....

Bloody-Disgusting has posted some new character breakdowns for the upcoming prequel The Thing (via Spoiler TV), and some new information has come to light about the film as well. It seems the film, which will start shooting on March 15 in Toronto, will be shooting from a script by Eric Heisserer, who rewrote the original draft by Battlestar Galactica creator Ronald Moore. As the premiere of Hocus Pocus 2 draws ever nearer, new stills from the movie have revealed new looks at the young leads, the young versions of the Sanderson sisters and the Sandersons being reunited with their spell book in what appears to be a gift shop that has been set up in their old cottage. The belated sequel to the 1993 movie wrapped filming earlier this year and will premiere on Disney+ just in time for Halloween, bringing back Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as the Sanderson sisters who will once again look to bring about chaos and madness to the world....

When I first heard about this film, I obviously didn’t hear enough about it because I almost immediately thought it was a sequel to Wild Hogs. They both share the same director (Walt Becker), one of its stars (John Travolta) and the studio (Disney, although Disney shingle Buena Vista put out Wild Hogs). While a Wild Hogs sequel is apparently on its way (supposedly dubbed Wild Hogs 2: Bachelor Ride), Old Dogs is sadly not the sequel to the decent-enough flick, and just a dull, formulaic film and a display on how stale and safe some movies have become lately....

Netflix and OWN announced today that the closing night of Netflix’s Emmy® FYSEE showcase, featuring a special in-depth conversation hosted by executive producer Oprah Winfrey, with Emmy®-winner Ava DuVernay and the cast of their four-part limited series, When They See Us - will be recorded to premiere on Netflix and OWN, Wednesday June 12 at 10p ET/PT (immediately following the Season Four premiere of DuVernay’s critically acclaimed “Queen Sugar” at 9p on OWN)....

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that it is adding a new twist to the Best Picture race: The governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences voted on Tuesday (6/14) to add a new twist to the 2011 Best Picture competition, and a new element of surprise to its annual nominations announcement. The Board voted to institute a system that will now produce anywhere between five and 10 nominees in the category....

Paris Hilton (The Simple Life) will guest-star as herself on NBC’s My Name Is Earl (Thursdays, 8-8:30 p.m. ET) in the one-hour episode marking the series’ original broadcast return scheduled for Thursday, April 3, 8-9:00 p.m. ET. In the episode “I Won’t Die With A Little Help From My Friends,” Earl (Jason Lee) is unconscious and various things from real life are bleeding into his unconscious mind – which viewers will see....

We reported back in April that director Paul Greengrass’ project Memphis was being delayed for at least a year. The filmmaker has been seeking new projects to fill the void in his schedule, and it seems two of the contenders are Maresk Alabama and Rush. Back in April, we first reported on Maresk Alabama, which was untitled at the time, and centers on Captain Richard Phillips, who was captured by Somali pirates while helming the Maresk Alabama in 2009....
