Warner Home Video has worked out the complex rights for Blade Runner to pave the way for a September reissue of the re-mastered “Director’s Cut” version, followed by a theatrical release of a version promised to be truly Ridley Scott’s final cut. Variety reports that Warner Bros,’ rights to Blade Runner lapsed a year ago, but the studio has since negotiated a long-term license. The film, now considered a sci-fi classic, has had a troubled history from the start: When Scott ran over-budget, completion bond guarantors took control of it and made substantial changes before its 1982 theatrical release, adding a voiceover and happy ending....

There are many planned movies and shows in development that are getting pulled from release thanks to Warner Bros. Discovery, and the latest title to add to that list is the animated series Little Ellen. After premiering its prior two seasons on HBO Max, the show was set to have its third season premiere on the streaming platform in June before it had been indefinitely delayed. Per Deadline, it’s now been revealed that the show has been canceled....

You can bring the first British crime drama from Guy Ritchie home in high definition this December. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels will be released on Blu-ray on December 1, the same day as Ritchie’s second film, Snatch, gets a BD release. The sequel to M3GAN has gotten its official title along with a release date. Per THR, the sequel has been officially announced by James Wan’s Atomic Monster and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse for a premiere date of Jan. 17, 2025. It’s also been revealed that the sequel will be titled M3GAN 2.0, teasing the arrival of a new and improved version of the titular killer doll. M3GAN stars Allison Williams and Violet McGraw are both set to return for the sequel....

Lionsgate has just released the official trailer for the new film The Honeymoon, heading for a release in December. Featuring Oscar-nominated actress Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm) in a lead role, the raunchy R-rated rom-com will be hitting theaters on Dec. 16 with a simultaneous release On Digital and On Demand. Marvel’s The Avengers is reuniting legendary Seattle grunge rockers Soundgarden for their first song in fifteen years. Live to Rise will play over the end credit sequence of Joss Whedon’s Marvel superhero adventure, with Chris Cornell singing lead vocals. The track will appear on Avengers Assemble, a compilation of songs inspired by and used in this summer’s Marvel’s The Avengers. The album will be in stores and available for download starting May 1st, along with the score by Alan Silvestri....

Ever since Netflix debuted its first original TV series, Lilyhammer, back in January 2012, the streaming service’s devotion to new content has grown exponentially. In less than three years, Netflix has increased its slate to nine original TV programs, but chief content officer Ted Sarandos wants to expand that slate to 20 shows per year, within the next five years. Hoping to turn a negative into a positive, Noel Clarke is using his real-life “cancelation” as inspiration for a screenplay. In 2021, there were multiple misconduct allegations leveled against Clarke, resulting in major consequences for his career. BAFTA suspended his membership and withdrew the actor’s award for outstanding achievement in British cinema. It was later reported that police closed their investigation without bringing any charges against Clarke, noting that there had been insufficient evidence to prove any of the claims....
