A brand new viral site has been launched for the upcoming Roland Emmerich film, 2012, which hits theaters on November 13. You can log on to the site at InstituteForHumanContinuity.org. The Institute, which is featured in the film, is charged with the task of ensuring the human race will survive after the supposedly-cataclysmic events that happen in December 2012 and will wipe out most of civilization. NEW REGULAR CAST MEMBERS: Criminal Minds Wednesdays, 9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT Emmy Award nominee JOE MANTEGNA will join the cast of CRIMINAL MINDS starring as FBI Special Agent David Rossi, an original member of the Behavioral Analysis Unit who took early retirement to go on lecture and book tours, and has volunteered to return to the unit. Thomas Haden Church has joined Peacock’s upcoming live-action comedy Twisted Metal, based on the PlayStation car-combat video game franchise of the same name. Church joins previously announced cast members Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker) and Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine). Church will play villain Agent Stone, a “post-apocalyptic highway patrolman” who will go to any means necessary to enforce law and order. The series will follow John Doe (Mackie), a fast-talking, fast-driving Milkman facing destructive vehicles on his mission to deliver supplies in this post-apocalyptic world....

Relativity Media announced today that it has acquired North American rights from Lionsgate to theatrically market and distribute Machine Gun Preacher. Directed and produced by DGA and Golden Globe-nominee Marc Forster (Finding Neverland, Monster’s Ball) and written by Jason D. Keller (Relativity’s Untitled Snow White Project), the film stars Gerard Butler (300) in a tour de force performance and will release in Los Angeles and New York on September 23, 2011....

ABC has pulled the struggling rookie comedy Man Up from its schedule, effective immediately. Production has already wrapped on the 10-episode order, and it is not known when the network may air the last two episodes. The show premiered on October 18 to a solid 2.4 rating with 7.7 million viewers tuning in, although the comedy has slipped significantly since then. Netflix dominated the Nielsen streaming top 10 chart at the beginning of November, with all ten places taken up by the platform. Top of the pile was Manifest, which dropped the first part of its fourth and final season on Nov. 4. While the weekly figures are only up to Nov. 6, that was still enough time for Manifest to log 1.37 billion minutes viewed and just managed to stay ahead of returning dating drama Love Is Blind....

NBC and Dick Wolf have signed Law & Order: Special Victims Unit stars Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni to rich two-year deals, according to Variety. According to the trade paper, insiders said the new pact gives both stars substantial raises over their existing deals, with annual salaries of more than $6.5 million each. It’s believed that with the bump, Hargitay will become, at minimum, one of the highest-paid actresses in network TV....
