Former Saturday Night Live cast member Melissa Villaseñor has opened up on why she left the series. Ahead of the show’s current 48th season, there had been a mass exodus of cast members, many of whom had been on the series for years. Villaseñor, who joined the show in 2016, had been among those to leave alongside Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon, Pete Davidson, Kyle Moody, Alex Moffat, Chris Redd, and Aristotle Athari....
Another Michael Crichton classic is being turned into a TV show. Sphere, which was originally a novel from Crichton, is being adapted for the small screen and is heading to HBO. The series is being developed by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the duo behind the hit sci-fi series Westworld. Perhaps not coincidentally, Westworld was also based on the 1973 movie of the same name, which was written and directed by Crichton....
When Seth MacFarlane throws a party, you have to expect that many of the talented artists who lend their voices to his numerous series would be in attendance. That was certainly the case at McFarlane’s holiday bash, which also doubled as a lavish promotional tool for MacFarlane’s upcoming Family Guy: Something, Something, Something Dark Side, which will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on December 22. Just ahead of the streaming release of DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Netflix has released a second full trailer. The limited series, featuring Evan Peters as the notorious serial killer, revisits Dahmer’s crimes as experienced by his victims and their families. Village Roadshow’s planned Myst television adaptation is moving forward as writer Ashley Edward Miller has signed on to write the pilot and serve as showrunner for the upcoming series. Known for penning X-Men: First Class, Miller’s other work as a writer include Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Andromeda, Thor, and Black Sails. Co-creator Rand Miller and his brother Ryan Miller will develop and produce the project alongside Village Roadshow and Delve Media’s Isaac Testerman and Yale Rice....
Neil Gaiman is one of the most celebrated comic book writers ever, whose works have spawned several film and television adaptations. Gaiman has also worked with both Marvel and DC comics over the course of his illustrious career, yet his stint with them has largely been ignored, at least in the live-action domain. Gaiman, who’s currently enjoying the success of his Sandman adaptation on Netflix, recently revealed that he has unsuccessfully pitched multiple projects to Marvel Studios over the years, including a Doctor Strange movie in collaboration with Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth) and a Marvel 1602 adaptation....

On Monday’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show, actor Josh Duhamel was a guest and they aired a snippet of a scene from the upcoming Transformers movie where he plays Captain Lennox. Legendary Pictures has pulled the plug on Paradise Lost, director Alex Proyas’ adaptation of the John Milton poem. Back in December, Legendary postponed production on Paradise Lost, which was set to star Bradley Cooper, Benjamin Walker, and Djimon Hounsou, and was originally supposed to start shooting in January. Bradley Cooper also revealed last month that Paradise Lost may start shooting in June, which seemed to indicate Legendary was making headway in trimming the $120 million budget, although that is obviously not the case now....
It is no secret that Patrick Stewart returns to his role of Professor Charles Xavier, aka Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but while this variant of his original X-Men character has fans excited, the actor has hinted that he would certainly be open to reprising the role again. Racing Dreams, the newest project from GOOD, is a documentary focusing on kids who dream of one day racing for NASCAR. The film was developed by Reason Pictures, which is currently being incorporated into the GOOD brand. The film started production March 9 in New York, and will be directed by Marshall Curry, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his 2005 documentary, Street Fight. Racing Dreams will follow three young drivers, aged 11-13, who race extreme karts in the World Karting Association’s National Pavement Series....
