For a while, Rhino was releasing entire series DVD box sets for all of their titles, including H.R. Pufnstuf, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, Land of the Lost, Lidsville, and The Bugaloos. But these sets have since gone out of print, and are no longer available. Well, don’t fret! As Vivendi Entertainment has secured the Krofft catalogue, and are re-mastering each episode under the supervision of the Krofft brothers themselves for future releases....

Marvel Entertainment’s animated division is working on producing a new “super stylized” cartoon series aimed at 6- to 8 year olds called Marvel Super Hero Squad. The Hollywood Reporter tells us that the series will feature Marvel heroes including Iron Man, Hulk, Wolverine, Thor, Fantastic Four and Captain America in a caricatured Super Hero City as they have “humorous adventures” against Doctor Doom, Magneto, Loki, the Abomination and others. No network has yet signed the broadcast rights for Marvel Super Hero Squad, but the series is expected to be available for broadcast beginning in 2009....

We know that a sequel to The Batman is in the works, but it remains to be seen who will serve as the film’s primary antagonist. Following the tussle between Batman (Robert Pattinson) and the Riddler (Paul Dano) in the first movie, fans wonder who will be next to face the Dark Knight in Matt Reeves’ standalone Batman universe. Names like Mr. Freeze, Scarecrow, and Two-Face are often suggested by fans, but what if Battinson’s biggest adversary in The Batman 2 is one of the lesser-known supervillains from Batman’s Rogues Gallery?...

One of the biggest TV disappointments in recent years was True Detective Season 2, which landed with a loud thud last June. It was a critical disaster that didn’t connect with fans at all. And it arrived after a stellar first season. One of the main problems was that the crime drama was presented as an anthology show. And gone were stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Even after 12 long months have passed, HBO has not been eager to announce a renewal for Season 3....

A Marvel Cinematic Universe fan, who definitely seems to be a binge-watcher, has created a detailed graphic explaining the entire MCU timeline, guiding everyone into the multiversal events and the inter-dimensional stories that have crossed over into the main MCU after Endgame. The updated timeline has taken the events of What If…? and Spider-Man: No Way Home, both of which have expanded the stories told in the MCU films and have adjoined them with new sets of events that are branched from the original timeline, occurring in an entirely different universe....

Move over crazy Juno lingo, MGM is totally developing like this musical thing based on the 1983 comedy Valley Girl. Like oh my god! Do you not totally remember that bitchin movie?!? Well according to The Hollywood Reporter, Idealogy’s Sean Bailey and Matt Smith delivered the novel twist on the cult comedy. Martha Coolidge directed the original flick about the mixed-clique relationship between a punk (Nicolas Cage) and a Valley girl (Deborah Foreman)....

Mickey Rourke and Inglourious Basterds star Til Schweiger have both come aboard the new thriller The Courier, according to The Wrap. The movie centers around Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s title character, a courier with a penchant for dangerous assignments. When he’s hired to deliver a briefcase to a notorious crime figure who hasn’t been seen in years, he finds himself being chased by corrupt cops and federal agents along with rivals from the criminal world....

It is hard to predict how different things would have been in the movie industry if the Covid pandemic had never happened, but it is possible that next week’s release of Morbius could have seen a better projection than the $40-60 million opening weekend expected. With constant release date shifts, some early signs that the film is not the most well put together Sony Marvel movie, and a rumored slap-dash attempt to link the film to the MCU, things are not looking amazing for the Spider-Man universe movie with predictions making it the lowest live-action opening of any Spider-Man based film....

The MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) is currently winding down on an arguably very underwhelming ‘Phase Four’ in its overall timeline, with major films like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022) having left most fans disenchanted in its execution. Nonetheless, a new report from ScreenRant has revealed some incredible, previously unseen concept art from the film that went curiously unused. Concept artist Thomas du Crest, who has done concept pieces for other Marvel films like Spiderman: Far From Home (2019) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), shared multiple artworks of different iterations of ‘Zombie Doctor Strange’ he created for the film on his ArtStation profile, some of them intensely grueling and, well, actually scary....

Namor the Sub-Mariner is finally making his leap to the big screen with the release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Namor, alongside the original android Human Torch, is the oldest character in Marvel Comics, making his first appearance in Marvel Comics #1 back in 1939 (Namor was created first, so it would essentially make him the first Marvel hero). The character has a long rich history in the comics and has had dealings with The Fantastic Four, the X-Men, the Hulk, and many more....

Netflix, Inc., the world’s largest online movie rental service, and Film Independent (FIND), the not-for-profit arts organization that produces the Independent Sprit Awards, Los Angeles Film Festival and over 250 hours of film education programming annually, today announced that they are joining forces to discover the next great independent filmmaker. The “Netflix FIND Your Voice Film Competition” will award one aspiring filmmaker the means, guidance and resources to make a full-length, narrative film....

Nine years ago, an unheralded animation tottered its way onto YouTube’s Cartoon Hangover channel. The brainchild of writer and storyboard artist Natasha Allegri, Bee and PuppyCat’s off-the-wall take on reality and droll humor was a sleeper hit, slowly building a fandom of its own that was so enchanted with the premise that they funded the most successful animation-related Kickstarter in the history of the platform to fund the first season....

Netflix has released the first trailer for The Confession Killer. This is the latest true crime series produced for the streaming service, following in the footsteps of shows like Making a Murderer and Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes. The five-part docuseries, is directed by Oscar nominee Robert Kenner (Food, Inc..), who partnered with Taki Oldham on the project. The series explores how the man once known as America’s most prolific serial killer was, in truth, a complex figure caught up in a flawed justice system....

Just a few days ago, the Stranger Things Season 2 trailer debuted, which not only offered the first footage of this highly-anticipated season, but revealed that the show will return on Halloween. Today we have the new cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly featuring the young cast of Stranger Things, along with a new photo of the stars in their Ghostbusters Halloween costumes and new plot details from the stars and producers....

Nick Lyon has been set to direct the third sequel in the Species franchise, according to Production Weekly. He recently directed the Sci-Fi’s telefilm Grendel, set to air on the network next month. The script by Ben Ripley, who wrote Species III, follows Miranda Hollander, a beautiful and brilliant young university professor who’s horrified when her “uncle,” Tom Hollander, reveals that she is not actually human after all, but an alien hybrid he created in a laboratory with his former scientific associate Forbes McGuire....

Not for Nothing is a film that held its first screening at the 31st Philadelphia Film Festival on October 21. The film’s plot follows a group of modern-day Italian and Irish American men who get tangled up in a mob war when the bar owner’s teenage daughter is found dead from a drug overdose. It was written and directed by two Philly natives, Frankie Tartaglia and Tim Dowlin. When crafting a story about the Mafia, Tartaglia and Dowlin started with an identity crisis of entitlement, ego, whose father was important, and where the respect is when there’s little organized crime to be attached to and backed up....

On Sunday, April 8th, three hit Showtime series will return to the network in a triple-header night of programming. The night kicks off with the fourth season of Nurse Jackie at 9 PM ET/PT, starring Emmy Award winner Edie Falco; followed by the third season of The Big C at 9:30 PM ET/PT, starring Golden Globe winner Laura Linney; and culminating with the hit drama series The Borgias at 10 PM ET/PT, starring Jeremy Irons in his Golden Globe nominated role....

Fans waiting for another trip to Storybrooke with Season 2 of Once Upon a Time will have to wait a little bit longer, with “Strange Things” kicking off the new season Sunday, September 30 at 8 PM ET on ABC. If you need a fix of this popular series to tide you over, you’re in luck, because the network just released a new trailer, teasing the events to come now that the curse is broken....
