Murder Mystery arrived on Netflix in 2019 as one of those movies that didn’t exactly garner rave reviews but still managed to become the biggest Netflix movie released at the time. The Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston movie was quickly greenlit for a sequel, and new photos from the set of Murder Mystery 2 have shown the pair reuniting as the New York couple who, in the first film, found themselves framed for the murder of an elderly billionaire while on vacation in Europe....

Warner Bros. has provided us with the poster and a few new images from TMNT, the all-new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles CGI movie arriving in theatres on March 30, 2007. The film features the voices of Patrick Stewart (X-Men), Sarah Michelle Gellar (The Grudge), Chris Evans (Fantastic Four), Zhang Ziyi (Memoirs of a Geisha) and Kevin Smith (Clerks). Fox Mulder is about to dive deep into one America’s great conspiracies; the JFK assassination. The X-Files is going to tackle the incident via a new miniseries from IDW comics Interestingly enough, the new book is set to arrive at the same time of the public release of the final batch of sealed government files related to John F. Kennedy’s death, which are set to be released this October. Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction but, in this case, fiction will probably be a little more fun....

The CW Network gave full season, back nine episode orders to both of its freshman hits Hellcats and Nikita, as well as One Tree Hill, now in its eighth season, it was announced today by Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, The CW. “This fall, The CW made several strategic scheduling moves, including adding two of the most buzzed-about new series, Hellcats and Nikita, to our line-up, and we’re thrilled that they’ve paid off for us,” said Ostroff....

IGN has just debuted the second poster for the upcoming summer adventure Centurion, which arrives in theaters nationwide on August 27. Production has begun on One Day, the feature film version of the internationally praised novel of the same name by David Nicholls, which this month enters The New York Times bestseller list. Academy Award nominee Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess star in the movie. One Day is a co-production in the unique partnership of Random House Inc.’s Random House Films division and Focus Features. The U.K.’s Film4 is co-financing. Mr. Nicholls has adapted his book into the screenplay for One Day, which Focus will release theatrically in the third quarter of 2011....

For those who have not seen the Oscar nominated The Power of the Dog, you may be forgiven for expecting to see some very strong canines in the film, especially when it has been revealed that pet brand Pawp will be making a donation of $10,000 to pet rescue charities every time someone says the words Power of the Dog at the 94th Academy Awards this weekend. With the Benedict Cumberbatch movie expected to take a number of awards, that could lead to a big chunk of cash going to the good cause by the end of Sunday night’s ceremony....

The latest award-winning film from Steven Spielberg The Fabelmans (2022), which wholesomely chronicles his early life as an ambitious filmmaker, has since been making waves with its growing list of award nods and wins. The most notable among them include Judd Hirsch’s Best Supporting Actor Oscar nod, which makes him the second-oldest actor in film history to receive the honor at 87 years old, behind the late Christopher Plummer who received his for All the Money in the World (2018) at 88 years old....

The Good This is a great procedural show that never gets dull or tiresome. Raymond Burr is terrific. The Bad No Special Features. It’s missing 20 episodes from the rest of the season. I had been very excited when I first heard that Perry Mason: The First Season, Vol. 1 was going to be coming to DVD. This is one of those shows that I could literally watch all day. Each episode introduces new characters and shows us all manner of human behavior, and in the end, Perry Mason puts the facts and details together and always comes out on the side of justice....

Peter Facinelli reprises his role as Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the latest Twilight sequel The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 is set to open this Friday, November 18th. In the film, actor Peter Facinelli reprises his popular role as Dr. Carlisle Cullen, founder of the Olympic Coven and adoptive father of vampire heartthrob Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). He is now set to take on Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) as his daughter-in-law, and will have to fight off both Jacob Black’s werewolf pack and The Volturi in saving Edward and Bella’s unborn child Renesmee....

Uber-producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney have once again unleashed a witless and formulaic big-budget fiasco. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is better served as a $200 million dollar commercial for parkour, the French sport of free-running that is the basis of all the stuntwork. That’s really the only aspect of this film that I found enjoyable. Even with a stellar cast and proven director, it’s another banal exercise in video game adaptations....

In a story from Variety, apparently Quentin Tarantino loves the Cannes Film Festival so much that his reason for completing Inglourious Basterds had to do with readying the film for its premiere there. In eight months the director shot and edited Inglourious Basterds from a 165 page script. No small feat considering this is a World War II drama. “I’m expecting this to be one of the high moments of my career....

Why? Why do I open my mailbox and find a Lions Gate package only to find that Ulli Lommel is still allowed to make films? Every time I crack open a box with that man’s name on it, I die a little inside. I can almost feel it shrivel up and wither away to a cracked, bleeding nothingness as I come to the inevitable conclusion that this monster is still given a shooting budget....

SyFy has announced that their next TV dramedy. Reginald the Vampire, an adaptation of the Fat Vampire book series by Johnny B. Truant, is officially in the works. Headlined by Spider-Man breakout star Jacob Batalon, the series appears to parody pop culture vampire tropes, most notably the Twilight franchise. Though Twilight isn’t exactly the most current trend in 2022, vampires are still around in pop culture, such as with FX’s What We Do in the Shadows....

Fox has announced a live musical production of the groundbreaking, Tony Award, Grammy Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent. Acclaimed film, television and theater producer Marc Platt (Grease: Live, La La Land, Wicked), along with the estate of writer/composer Jonathan Larson, will executive-produce the event. Screen Gems and Constantin Film announced today that Resident Evil: Afterlife, the next installment in the widely successful Resident Evil film franchise has begun production in Toronto, Canada. The fourth film, which will be shot and released in 3-D, is a first in the Resident Evil film franchise. Most of the key creative players, who turned the Resident Evil film franchise into a global phenomenon, will be reprising their roles in Afterlife....

Lifetime Television’s popular reality series Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead has been renewed for a second season, it was announced by Susanne Daniels, President, Entertainment, Lifetime Entertainment Services. The show will return this summer. Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead explores Williams’ claim of her abilities to see and speak with the dead and in some cases possibly transform the lives of the people she meets who are seeking to connect with their dearly departed....

According to several reports, Robert Aramayo will play a leading role, but the specifics of his part haven’t been revealed. Originally, the part had gone to Will Poulter but the actor eventually departed the series. That paved the way for Aramayo to once again step into the big-budget world of swords and sorcery. Other confirmed cast members include Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle and Maxim Baldry. Morfydd Clark is also on board to play a young Galadriel, who was previously played by Cate Blanchett in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies....

For many, Lost in Translation is one of the most beautiful stories ever written. The emotionally charged, yet romantically ambiguous relationship between Billy Murray’s Bob Harris and Scarlett Johansson’s Charlotte is rare in Hollywood. In so many ways, the chemistry the two share doesn’t feel prepared or created. Rather, it feels natural, and reminds people of similar encounters they may have had in life. While the feelings projected in the film are all part of its mystique, it was the unique final scene that made Lost in Translation a part of cinema culture....
