NBC has renewed its new mid-season drama Parenthood (Tuesdays, 10-11 p.m. ET) for the 2010-11 season. The announcement was made today by Angela Bromstad, President, Primetime Entertainment, NBC and Universal Media Studios. “We are so happy to welcome back this multi-layered and compelling series about an extended American family for another season,” said Bromstad. “It’s gratifying that Parenthood continues to garner critical acclaim and is generating highly positive reaction from viewers, thanks to the fearless creativity of its producers and the extraordinary performances delivered by its ensemble cast....

According to a report from Variety, CBS has announced that it has renewed all three shows in its NCIS franchise for the fall season. NCIS will enter its 20th season in the fall NCIS: Los Angeles will enter its 14th while NCIS: Hawai’i will have just its second season this fall. All three series have been ratings successes for CBS, so it’s no surprise that all three have been renewed....

Rob Cohen has written an update about his forthcoming sequel The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. On his own personal blog, he provides new pictures, behind-the-scenes videos and writes: Jet Li is finally has joined us in Montreal and the production has palpably kicked up into a higher gear. AMC has released the plot descriptions for three upcoming Season 4 episodes of The Walking Dead, which hint that the group is in grave danger both inside and outside of the prison. While these synopses don’t come out and say it, there is the possibility that The Governor (David Morrissey) may finally return in these episodes. Two of director Timur Bekmambetov’s visionary films will get the 1080p treatment this September. Night Watch and Day Watch will be released on Blu-Ray on September 9. Warner Bros. Is planning to stay in the Barbie and Ken business, with Barbie stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling rumored to be reuniting for the proposed Ocean’s Eleven prequel project. According to a new report courtesy of Puck News, Gosling is being courted to join Robbie in the Ocean’s prequel, a project that was announced by the studio earlier this year. While nothing is official as yet, The Gray Man star Ryan Gosling is reportedly in talks to star alongside The Suicide Squad and The Wolf of Wall Street actress Margot Robbie in the Ocean’s Eleven prequel, which is set to be directed by Jay Roach....

Shorts International and Magnolia Pictures will release The Oscar Nominated Short Films 2011 in over 150 theatres across the United States and Canada from February 11th, 2011. Three theatrical programmes will give audiences around the country an opportunity to watch the nominated shorts in the Animation, Live Action and Documentary categories prior to the 83rd Academy Awards ceremony on February 27th. This year will mark the inaugural theatrical outing for the nominated Documentary shorts....

Peter Ellenshaw, the Oscar-winning visual effects pioneer and matte artist who worked his magic on such classic Disney live-action films as Mary Poppins, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Darby O’Gill and the Little People, Treasure Island, and The Black Hole, passed away at his home in Santa Barbara on Monday (2/12) at the age of 93. As a hand-picked member of Walt Disney’s creative team, Ellenshaw was called upon to create a wide variety of visual effects for the Studio’s films, and even painted the iconic first map of Disneyland that was featured on all the early postcards and souvenir booklets....

Although he’s no longer involved in the series, Australian filmmaker Phillip Noyce, who directed Jack Ryan films Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger, tells Moviehole that he’s heard that the wheels are in motion to put C.I.A agent Ryan back on the big screen. But no, he won’t be involved and by the sounds of it, neither will the man who invented the popular literary character. Apparently there’s a legal loophole that enables the studio to make a film based on the character - without getting Clancy’s input....

There were likely a lot of people who had their doubts about whether Peacemaker could make a big impact on HBO Max even after the success of The Suicide Squad before it. However, the violent, obscenity-filled spinoff series has surpassed even the highest expectations in viewer numbers and has now become the top reviewed release in the DCEU. John Cena’s starring role as Christopher Smith breaks away from last year’s The Suicide Squad, bringing the gun-totting hero into his own story as he joins a black ops organization to take down a threat known as Butterflies....

NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock had some struggles last year. While discussing earnings for the fourth quarter of 2021, Comcast announced that Peacock made $778 million in revenue, with an adjusted loss of $1.7 billion. For comparison, in 2020, Peacock had $118 million in revenue, along with an adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) loss of $663 million. Comcast also revealed that Q4 2021 earnings did better than Wall Street expectations....

Fans of Percy Jackson have been eagerly awaiting news of the show’s release ever since it was announced that Disney+ would be creating an adaptation of Rick Riordan’s book series. Walker Scobell, the star of the show, recently shared some promising news of the potential window for when we can expect to see the new Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Unlike previous incarnations, this version is being entirely spearheaded by Riordan himself and fans are eager to see if the series will stay closer to the original books than the movie version did....

Lionsgate, the leading independent filmed entertainment studio,Relativity Media and J&J Productions Limited announced that principal photography for the international production of kungfu action-adventure epic Forbidden Kingdom has just wrapped, with the last few scenes completed at the massive Hengdian World Studios in Zhejiang Province, China. Filming started on May 2, 2007. The 17-week production took place at various locations in China, including Anji, Dunhuang, Fangyan, Xianju, Wuyi Mountain and Hengdian....

Transformers 2 certainly seems to be aiming for having as much comedy as it’s predecessor, at least if the latest bit of casting news is any indication. Speaking to MTV during a sneak peak of his upcoming film The Rocker, Rainn Wilson confirmed that he would be appearing in Transformers 2. As what you may ask? Why, as “A professor that turns into a car that turns into a robot.”...

Rainn Wilson is constantly recognized for his portrayal as Dwight Schrute on the popular NBC comedy, The Office. The immensely successful series ran for nine seasons, where Wilson did an excellent job playing the beet farmer and proficient paper salesman from 2005 to 2012. Wilson’s name has become synonymous with Dwight and The Office, though his credits extend far past his time on the workplace mockumentary. A-list Hollywood stars have zero chemistry in an utterly tiresome and contrived heist flick. Red Notice takes Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot on a globetrotting egg hunt. Each actor phones in their trademark mannerisms for an action-comedy template. There’s little original or engaging despite the big-budget action scenes and exotic locales.
